Ironic that Bungie decided to use silver coins as the new currency. Silver coins have been a symbol of betrayal since it was said that Judas sold out Jesus for 30 silver coins 2000 years ago. Now Bungie introduces a real money backed system, which countless games have done but cause players to feel betrayed or like the company is selling out, and base it on silver coins. So appropriate.
In a world where we fly planet to planet in about a minute, they couldn't come up with a slightly more exotic currency that doesn't have that betrayal vibe to it?
-side note before you lose your mind that someone referenced the Bible, there is no actual religious connotation to my post. I'm not here to say the Bible is right or wrong nor do I ever care to discuss it. You will not offend me by hailing Satan, or any other God, demon, or whatever. Believe or don't believe whatever you like. The part I referenced is a well known by Christians, Atheists, Agnostics, Catholics, Muslims, etc. Again, the point is too show the irony of their choice not to talk about religion.

Wait a second... if you take the five first letters of "Cosmodrome" you get Cosmo. Change one letter and you get Cozmo. Cozmo has five letters. If you change a few letters to numbers you get Sunbreaker. SB is short of Sunbreaker. If you change S to O (Cozmo) and B to P (Potato) you get OP. Sunbreaker is OP! I rest my case.

I was going to say something about this post but i got distracted by this girl eating a banana.

Are you PC, bro?

Well I know that every time I see someone do the Carlton dance, I feel personally betrayed.

Sorry about this idiot community they can't comprehend completely valid comparisons.

Antisemitic Slur....?
-
...are you an English major? Because that's kind of a stretch to compare the two. It's a game, with micro transactions, that's all that it is. I get your comparison but still...it's a stretch

I'm atheist. And I didn't read the post. But I'm still offended at this post shaming atheism. What if I want to praise our Lord and savior Atheon, Times Conflux? For he is the true savior.

Oh my god... Are you actually bringing religion in... Shut the fûck up with that fairytale...

Spoiler alert i wasnt done reading the bible kappa b

Ewww God isn't real get out

You say there is no religious connotation but you used the only portrayal of betrayal that is linked to silver which is in fact a connection to religion. There is no betrayal here. They are attempting to support their company that pays employees just as you work and I work for a company that is trying to make money. Their intent is clear.

So hold on, let me work this out. Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Your saying that because bungie has introduced silver as a micro transaction that they are betraying us. So by that logic it is the players who are Jesus. Hold on that means I am Jesus dosn't it? Hay every one it turns out I am the new Jesus, send me money or your all going to hell
-
it was said that Judas sold out Jesus for 30 silver coins 2000 years ago
The original micro-transaction. *puts on glasses* YEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHH At least back then you could count on your micro-transaction being ... cross platform. *puts on another pair of glasses* YEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHH Man when it comes to the somewhat niche genre of video game related blasphemy humour, I'm really ... nailing it. *puts on another pair of glasses* YEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHH ... I think I'm going to hell.

The reason us game Dev's don't bring up religion openly is because we want the community to see each other as equals and not separate into different little groups. The simply mention of religion can blow up in your face like a nuclear ICBM. We don't want to start any wars either.

Interesting point. I get what they were trying to do based on the flavor text "rare coins struck during the height of the Golden age" But it is interesting when you put it that way.
