You're not looking at the big picture.
You and others like you that buy into these things are giving companies a reason to nickel and dime everyone for content they would have originally gotten as part of the original game.
Essentially: The more you buy into microtransactions and shitty DLC, the more microtransactions and shitty DLC you're gonna get. This -blam!-s everyone, and you should feel bad (though I don't really care if you don't).

Ok, but it wasnt a part of the original game, nor was it ever leaked, or anything. Its emotes. Who cares? These are things that grant no advantage whatsoever. Besides, there will be no more DLC (by dlc i mean big dlc)for Destiny. Next will be Destiny 2 or whatever you wanna call it. So do you think people working on updates and all this stuff is free? All the maintenance, updates, new content such as the free missions and such that are coming. You think all that is free? Employees and such need to get paid. Thats the big picture.
-
And you know what their DLC plans are...how? I'm not denying that employees need to be paid. But microtransactions on a $60 console game are a shitty way of going about it.

Yeah a $60 game that released over a yr ago. Its not $60 anymore, but im guessing you bought it around day 1. Which means you played your fair share of this game, worth $60 id say, yes? That was during a time when the game was still selling, and DLC was still coming around the corner. This game has already settled. TTK and its deals came out around 5 weeks ago. The buyers are practically done until possibly december for a small sharp rise in sales. Maintenance must be done, updates and bug fixes, servers kept up, "free missions" arent exactly free since people must be compensated. They arent a non profit organization. If you paid your $60 over a yr ago, thats on you. And its up to you to think whether or not you got your moneys worth at the time for the original game. Regardless whether you think these emotes should be free just because you actually "paid for the original game". Like if i work at home depot and i sell a Lawn Mower that costs $300, do you expect that item to last you forever? Because it wont. But it does its job and in time would you consider it worth the investment? If they decide to sell an optional part for the mower, do you really think u should get it free? Yeah right

I never said I wanted the emotes for free. I don't want them to exist in the first place. Microtransactions have no place here, and you can bet they'll find this out pretty quickly when they try to put more in the game. Fun tidbit that no one has seemed to notice: In the return emote screen, there's something that says that consumable items are non-refundable. Guess what this probably means? XP boosts, or maybe even materials considering they just hit the perfectly fine material drop rates. What happens after that? Probably exotics. Microtransactions always build up, and always get more nasty as time goes on.

Essentially you are telling me I should feel bad for buying a product I want. Everything costs resources to make. Games cost resources to make. DLCs costs resources to make. Servers cost resources to maintain. If you don't feel something is worth your money... You don't buy. Bungie/activision are not non profit organizations so it is very stupid to think they will do things for free. Everything costs. Hell even on profit organizations have to get enough money to fund their endeavors. I just don't think people telling others they should feel like shit for buying something they want has a place here.

You shouldn't feel bad for wanting something. You should feel bad for buying something that is an obvious cash grab.

I honestly don't believe in micro transactions in games. I think that should come with content you buy. So these emotes.. I think they should be unlockable or achieve some how in game. But I do not have a problem with buying DLCs like expansions. Games evolve and if I feel the content is worth it, I buy it. If not, then I move on to a different game. But it's right for others to beat people down and point fingers for buying stuff they obviously want. If you don't believe in then don't participate.
