I just love that Luke, the lead raid designer, is apparently some kind of evil corporate mastermind in control of marketing, sales, and pricing.
The reason everyone was mad at Luke is he was right. People ARE throwing money at their screens. It isnt his fault, he just didn't think to filter his words.
Whatever you think about the microtransactions, or anything else in Destiny, it's absolutely retarded to think any one person, be it DeeJ or Luke Smith is behind it. It's called business. Bungie and Activision are trying to make money. It is up to reach individual person to decide if they are willing to support them by giving them money. If you don't like the current state of the game, don't spend money on it. It's that simple. I used to play Assassin's Creed. I felt like it went in a dumb direction with #3 and the ships. I didn't buy any after that. I also didn't go on Ubisoft forums to bitch about the inclusion of ships in a game about stabbing people from rooftops.
TL;DR Shut up, don't spend any money if you don't like it, and go play a game you enjoy. Also, muted for posting a stupid bait thread.

Correct. Keep in mind that large percentage of the Destiny community are kids who have no experience in the corporate workforce. Therefore, knowing how development vs sales and marketing is not a clear concept for them. This lack of knowledge sure won't prevent them from making themselves sounds like morons though.

Most people in the UK were 'angry' at Luke Smith because of his '$40 = £40' quote....

Thank you for being reasonable!

Yeah...Luke Smith, the Donald Trump of the gaming industry.

I'm willing to bet money Trump has a much lower IQ, saying one stupid thing isn't the same as every word out of your mouth being complete garbage
