I view emotes, and any extra paid content the same as I do for music from the band's I like. New content, new price. If my favorite band releases a new album, I pay for it. Just because I bought their first album, doesn't entitle me to the rest of their music for free. If I don't like the new songs? I chose not to buy them.

Im with OP on this one. Perhaps not quite as adamant but I personally am boycotting spending real money on this. Everyone is entitled to spend their hard earned money on whatever they wish. Just know that you are feeding into and supporting a practice that will only exasterbate itself in the future. If nobody bought this and everybody complained, then they would have no choice but to unmonetize it and make it part of the game. If its a big seller then that opens up the door for more. Its emotes now but next year it may also be shaders, sparrows, emblems and other cosmetic items that dont expressly affect gameplay. I respect Bungie. And Id say Ive gotten alot of entertainment for my 120bucks but I get thr feeling suits at Activision are sitting around thinking of any possible way to get just a few more dollars out of their investment. Which leads me to mention CD ProjektRed. The witcher 3 was published by WB games who dont mind price gouging for DLC as evidenced by Arkham Knights $40 season pass. Yet CDPR stood up for gamers and said $60 is a huge investment in a game and we should be rewarded by not being nickel and dimed even for "cosmetic items that have no effect on gameplay". They gave 16 pieces of DLC free to everyone. I rewarded their good gesture by buying the season pass($25 for two expansions totaling 30hrs of gameplay). Like I said im thoroughly enjoying TTK and have no regrets about my money invested in Destiny but I choose not to support this as its only gonna get worse. I urge you all to hold Bungie to a higher standard and vote with your wallet (or lack of). Thanks for reading also, shoutout CDPR holding it down.

I most likely won't spend any real money on the emotes. I just support people's right to chose whether or not to buy them. OP has every right to not buy them, and every right to disagree with adding microtransactions. It's when people start calling others names that I take issue. There's also the whole, I bought the game gimme free stuff debate, which I take issue with.

Yeah but they don't promise an album and charge you for it,only deliver 2 songs and then charge you again for each song they release after the album comes out

Edited by FunKing Jamz: 10/13/2015 8:17:36 PMActually the logic displayed here is flawed. The OP is stating that bungie decided to triple dip your wallet and these emotes are the DEEPEST gouge yet! Let's take a trip back to E3 when they showed us the game we were getting... skip 1 year to the beta... the game was 2 separate ideas from what we first saw. Skip 6 more months to release, they got our 59.99 then, but that wasn't enough! They also decided to launch a console along side the games initial release another 499.99. Then the rest of the story that "wasn't ready" we had to pay for in the form of a "seasons pass" priced at 19.99. So far bungie has gotten 80 bucks (+ applicable taxes) But wait there's more!!! Then finally they decide to end vinilla with "TTK" but this is where the -blam!- only gets worse! (Bungie said "forget the lube! I'm raw doggin it!" They proceed to release 3 DIFFERENT levels to the release the "base" dlc where u get a code and download when it's ready (39.99) the "limited" edition (79.99) and the "collectors" edition (129.99) and let's not forget the 2nd console they made (499.99) Or if u waited and bought the TTK after its launch you had the choose at the "limited" edition for 59.99. So now we're talking roughly $130 - 210 if you just bought games or if your crazy and bought the consoles 800+ THAT'S A LOT OF MONEY! NOW EMOTES! MICROPAYS! they're literally reaching into your pocket and taking your money! What's next monthly subscriptions? Pay for exotics? Honestly This needs to stop but like the OP said... your all a "heard of sheep" and personally IMO we need to boycott these new emotes and put our foot down and show bungie they can't just disrespect us and win! Spineless fools... most of you are at least! With music (sorry I got all caught up in the -blam!- started) artist that release new music... it's actually NEW music, destiny the guns are all the same and the gear same thing. Music... you can't compare music to this game. Each musical artist deserves there money... they actually worked hard to produce that song. Bungie isn't working hard at new content... the content we got recently has already bored me and I've stopped playing once more! Raid... beaten the 2nd day...light lvl 300 first night. I DON'T EXPECT FREE MUSIC but I do expect QUALITY CONTENT FOR MY MONEY!

U misspelled vanilla, lol.

Edited by Captain Tipsy: 10/13/2015 8:10:06 PMBy that sense, if your favourite artist releases a new album, are you still able to listen to the old songs you had purchased? Are you still able to play any song you previously purchased from that artist? Even after they release new albums?? Or do you need to buy the new album to listen to old album? Well , you cant seem to do that in Destiny. People are required to have TTK purchased to buy guns and armour, to play Iron Banner...etc...etc... Do you get it now, puppet??

I was referring to emotes and new content. I didn't touch upon needing TTK to continue playing old stuff. Which, I agree is stupid. But if I like something enough I'll buy it. Just like I've bought the same albums over multiple media formats. From cassette tapes and cds to digital downloads. I've also bought the same game on multiple platforms. My point is, they aren't taking anything from me, I'm freely giving my money by choice. When I no longer enjoy the content, I'm not forced to continue paying.

Edited by Captain Tipsy: 10/14/2015 8:34:01 AMThe opposite is true in case of Destiny. Which requires you to have new content to progress. Which makes your above statement pointless.
agree?
