Destiny and the Bible

I have seen apparent similarities between Destiny and the Bible in general. For example: The collapse is like the Fall of Man. The Guardians are like Christians fighting sin. The Speaker is like the Bible itself, since he is sort of like the Traveler's word, and the Bible is God's word. Also, with TTK's recent release, the Darkness closes in, but the Light fights back and wins, which is like Jesus' return. The different factions are like different theological views. If you do not believe in Jesus, God, or that the Bible is true, please be respectful and do not post hateful comments and just make a fool of yourself. Believe what you want. I also realize that this doesn't completely align with Destiny's lore, and you need to understand that I am making this understandable for the average Destiny player. Have a nice day and God bless you.

 • You may see it this way, but consider this: Christianity existed amongst the denizens of pre Traveller Earth. We have point C on Widow's court inside a church for example. Then the Traveller came. I don't know if you've noticed, but the Tower citizens worship the Traveller - not Jesus. The Traveller overthrew Earthly religions. The Speaker is the High Priest of the Traveller. We each carry a Ghost, born of the Traveller, who resurrects us, literally, every time we die. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the light, the only way to eternal life is through me", but it turns out that the Destiny universe that has been proved incorrect. In the Destiny universe the only way to eternal life is through the Traveller. I would argue that Destiny is specifically oppositional to Christianity, and that the parallels that you see are there not to make the story allegorical, but to show that the Traveller has power that we traditionally associate with Godhood.
