No no it progressed the human race. I was brought up catholic and have never believed in any of the fairy tales I was taught, but you can't deny that religion was a necessary idea to get us where we are now

Religion has been opposed to every civil rights issue that we've ever faced. Book burnings, witch hunts, Galileo, Darwin and bombing abortion clinics are just a few examples of humanity being held back because of biblical text.

I don't see it that way, I see it as a way of control. Granted someone loses a loved one I can see where religion can help bring peace of mind an all that, you've only got to look at the bloodshed going on daily all down to different beliefs. An let's not ignore the fact it's a billion dollar industry lol imagine where we would be now all as one with that kind of investment chucked at science, we would literally reaching for the stars.
