Wow;
You're reading too much into junk thats not there guy;
Pls stop.
Of course there are some mythological similarities; its a post apocalyptic future society being threatened by evil about to devour it.
Guess what though;
Character names and back stories actually come back from MANY other sources and MUCH OLDER sources than the bible.
They use Norse and Nordic mythos and references from hindu scripture FAR MORE than the bible as an example.

The Destiny symbol itself is a Hindu symbol! Look it up! And it's meaning, fits well with many of the premises of the game. So tired of the bible thumping crowd thrusting the big dick of God down everyone's throats and into their measure activities.

Small* dick

Lol yea thats kinda why i posted that bit; An yea there is SOOO MUCH stuff they use from soo many places; As near as i can tell tho hindu scripture is used the most; which kinda makes sense---> its the LARGEST mythos on size of mythological text volumes that can be used. So yea.
-
Absolutely, I remember sitting in a philosophy of religion class and going over the gitas and coming to see some of the similarities
-
Its also not just myth an religion though; Phalanxes Centurions I mean thats classic roman empire; Right down to; "Ya know, when the cabal go to war they're actually kicked out of the empire? Victory is the only way they ever get to go back home..."---> Cayde 6 Thats actually how the roman spartans practiced war and deterred desertion

> Roman Spartans Wat.. Spartans were soldiers from Sparta, which is in Greece.

Edited by DarthBrando: 10/13/2015 6:43:36 AMYea Sparta was a province in Greece; When the roman empire over threw the Grecian governmental systems the spartans became their elite for hire cadre army. See Persian empire vs Roman empire (300 is a good movie though it butchers some history) Also Persian empire is what drove in part the Grecian nations to merge into the Roman empire.

Roman used to hunt christians down... conclusion?
-
Actually thats kinda a myth, mostly brought on by the good book it self. The christian origin; Catholicism Was actually adopted by the roman empire and used to eliminate the conflict between greek and roman pagan religions and by out-phasing those; unified the entire region under roman empire rule. They hunted down christ and his followers as told by the bible (and literally NO WHERE ELSE IN ALL OF HISTORY) due to the new testament and christ's version of god (christianity vs Catholicism) was essentially pagan idol worship at the time. Which ironically is why it is supposed to have caught on so well (replacing old roman and greek idolatry with idolization of christ). In actual historical account (historic literature from era's) christianity didn't actually start becoming wide spread until a few hundred years after christ's death.

interresting... srry about my unverified information.

No worries: its not a very well known thing

Yea; history is quite interesting lol. But yea the myth that romans hunted down christianity is a bit irregular of one. Especially since the new testament was eventually written and published by the Vatican still under roman Catholic rule. Mostly though in western christianity; its not corrected due to; 1) it would contradict events from the bible itself to admit that roman's were not specifically targeting and hunting christians 2) it allows the whole "christianity is being persecuted" argument some actual validity.
