As Christians, we are to be set aside. A peculiar people. Why? So we can dedicate ourselves to God. God is Christ. What did Jesus do? Jesus sat with the sinners and ate dinner with them and had fellowship with them. We are to speak the Truth in love. We can't judge someone's eternal resting place. No matter what their loves look like. But we can judge actions as the scripture instructed. But you know the only people Jesus got angry, indignant and violent with? PEOPLE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF HIS CHILDREN. The Pharisees, the money changers, THE RELIGIOUS HARD LINERS. Because they only wanted power over people instead of showing people the love of God. There are Christians out there who want to love you. They may tell you things you don't want to hear about your lifestyle. But if they care about you, they will do it in love! I'd rather love someone and keep the communication lines and relationship open than to disown someone and never speak to them again. Then what good am i?! You weren't treated any worse than Christ. At least you weren't crucified(literally) by your own people (the Romans carried out the execution but only at the behest of the pharisees. And before we get into the whole "who killed Christ" debate, it was all of humanity because we needed a savior). I don't say that to be mean. My main point is as Christians, we are not called to be a good - time all the time band of fairy tales and sunshine kids. The Bible says His word and our allegiance to him would divide households and bring persecution to us. It never fails to amaze me.how many Christians think that their following Christ means all people will be nothing but on their best behavior around them. Christ suffered. We are servants of Christ. Is any servant better than their master? All the apostles but John died gruesome, horrible deaths. Listen, if you pray and dig with a sincere heart into God's word with study guides and real, objective open eyed genuine curiosity, God will reveal himself to you. I tell people, don't be afraid to test God. If you sincerely want to know if He's real and if He is what Christians say he is so you can know and follow the Truth, He will meet you. If you're just wasting His time, I can't promise you anything except no matter what, He will always love you and He has so much love to give. God bless you in all your ways.
