"Imagined by writer" The distinction between fiction and non fiction is not the same as true or false. It actually comes down to the intent of the author(s). That is why books on haunted houses ,psychics and theological texts are categorized as non-fiction and books like Frankenstein and twilight are considered fiction. I'm not saying the bible is true or false, to say the entirety of the bible is anything specific is silly since it's a collection of various forms of writing. I'm simply pointing out that you are misusing the term. There is fiction in the bible, such as the poems and songs presented which are intended as metaphors, allegories and parables for religious teachings but the bible as a whole is correctly categorized as non-fiction since it was written and presented by the authors as their truth. I'm a religious studies/anthro major I have heard the lecture on fiction and non-fiction numerous times, in regards to scholarly investigation/analysis.
