I'm really curious as to why a lot of players believe this. Why do you?

It just seems like the expected twist. And then there was an interview with Luke Smith where he was answering questions left and right with straightforward answers and then when they ask him about the traveler being evil he kinds of hesitates and then says something equivalent to "to be determined".

hahaha that sly bastard. Well I wouldn't be surprised if he was trolling. We are pretty damn gullible and well..he seems the type to do such a thing.
