I have seen apparent similarities between Destiny and the Bible in general. For example:
The collapse is like the Fall of Man. The Guardians are like Christians fighting sin. The Speaker is like the Bible itself, since he is sort of like the Traveler's word, and the Bible is God's word. Also, with TTK's recent release, the Darkness closes in, but the Light fights back and wins, which is like Jesus' return. The different factions are like different theological views.
If you do not believe in Jesus, God, or that the Bible is true, please be respectful and do not post hateful comments and just make a fool of yourself. Believe what you want.
I also realize that this doesn't completely align with Destiny's lore, and you need to understand that I am making this understandable for the average Destiny player.
Have a nice day and God bless you.

The beauty of religion is you can fit it into everything you can imagine and see the similarities. Not because they are there... Just because you are looking for them. I'm a programmer. I create code that can create or destroy. My code can come in many forms. If I created a true AI it would be intelligent and self aware. It may even believe I exist even though I never tell it I do. It could never speak to me. I could communicate in ways it would never understand and it would only see my words as actions or feel them as feelings. It could maybe even go as far as to hear my voice to an extent but it would just sound like noise. It'd never make sense. I could even bring the code back or totally reset it and it would be none the wiser. May even believe it has a limited life span when in reality it just starts all over again. Does that make me a god? Hardly. Does that story fit a large portion of multiple religions? Probably. Is it possible? Eventually. Maybe even now. I'm far too lazy to find out.
