I have seen apparent similarities between Destiny and the Bible in general. For example:
The collapse is like the Fall of Man. The Guardians are like Christians fighting sin. The Speaker is like the Bible itself, since he is sort of like the Traveler's word, and the Bible is God's word. Also, with TTK's recent release, the Darkness closes in, but the Light fights back and wins, which is like Jesus' return. The different factions are like different theological views.
If you do not believe in Jesus, God, or that the Bible is true, please be respectful and do not post hateful comments and just make a fool of yourself. Believe what you want.
I also realize that this doesn't completely align with Destiny's lore, and you need to understand that I am making this understandable for the average Destiny player.
Have a nice day and God bless you.

Let there be loot, as the god would say.

Edited by F1GZ: 10/13/2015 4:47:41 AMBungie has a loosely based a lot things off of biblical events just look at Halo there's a lot of biblical references in that as well.

Wow; You're reading too much into junk thats not there guy; Pls stop. Of course there are some mythological similarities; its a post apocalyptic future society being threatened by evil about to devour it. Guess what though; Character names and back stories actually come back from MANY other sources and MUCH OLDER sources than the bible. They use Norse and Nordic mythos and references from hindu scripture FAR MORE than the bible as an example.

I kinda wanna burn destiny now..
-
I hope not, God spent the first half of the bible being a psychopathic killing deity.
-
You are correct in a way. Bibles been around a long time and covers a lot of major themes reflected across many different mediums. Saw a post the other day on here, some kids dad thought Destiny was satanic and took it away. Go share your theories with him and try to help him out
-
You can find similarities like this in nearly everything...it's so common there is a word for it. Not going to tell you what word it is (where's the fun in that), but it's the reason people see elvis in toast.

I went to the store the other day and bought bread There was real wheat bread, kinda real wheat bread, and really fake wheat bread. I asked a store employee which one is 100 percent grain. The employee says Pepperidge Farms bread is the best and most healthiest, in fact he uses it to help control his blood sugar! So I went home and Google PF bread. Turns out they were cookies and not bread the entire time! Must've been about jesus..because the clerk was obviously the traveler's speaker and the bread brands were the factions. AFTER ALL THIS HASTLE, IT TURNS OUT TOTALLY WAS JESUS TELLING THE BREAD MAN TO GIVE ME COOKIES. Must've been the good old book right? What're you smoking.

Edited by Gath: 10/13/2015 4:31:10 AMIt's a game, why can't we leave faith and politics out if it?

You're reaching.

Well then same to you brother. That is one way of looking at the story I disagree but respect your view.
-
Although I like the thought , it's a little far fetched. Nice thought though, good to see some other fellow Christians out here.
-
Read the books of sorrow. They read like the bible
-
As a christian myself this makes perfect sense to destiny lore
-
I was actually thinking of making a comic book series having a crossover between destiny and all the religions [and a few of my favorite villains from other games and stories]
how does that sound?
Go away

Edited by JayhawkZombie: 10/13/2015 1:21:25 AMI see a lot of religious debate here rather than lore debate. I kind of expected that. Sorry, Christians and I don't really get along anymore. Ever since I was mugged by "Christians" for my lifestyle "choice", I refuse to believe that any part of it is good. I was driven out of my school for it, and driven to suicide, all because "God said so". A lot of my family abandoned me, and still openly trash me. All in the name of Christianity and the teachings of God. I'll happily burn in whatever you people call Hell if it means I don't have to spend time with people like that But let me guess: I need to just "get over it", right?

Nice post. Creative I like it.. Athiest

Here we -blam!-ing go.

Uhhhhhhh no

One more similarity... Both fiction ;)

How a man of faith can even play this game doesnt it go against everything u believe like killing and shit like that
-
as much as i agree with your comparison (which can be said for a lot of things) i would be mindful of where you post the internet is a slum of people who believe NDT and Dawkins are the only ones who can be right. creationism and deism are lost in man's arrogance believing they are the highest form of beings yet want to hang on to the belief they came from something lesser and not greater
-
Yea not so much
