I have seen apparent similarities between Destiny and the Bible in general. For example:
The collapse is like the Fall of Man. The Guardians are like Christians fighting sin. The Speaker is like the Bible itself, since he is sort of like the Traveler's word, and the Bible is God's word. Also, with TTK's recent release, the Darkness closes in, but the Light fights back and wins, which is like Jesus' return. The different factions are like different theological views.
If you do not believe in Jesus, God, or that the Bible is true, please be respectful and do not post hateful comments and just make a fool of yourself. Believe what you want.
I also realize that this doesn't completely align with Destiny's lore, and you need to understand that I am making this understandable for the average Destiny player.
Have a nice day and God bless you.

Not one of these
-
Oh No stop that. Go to your neighborghhood and spread your beliefs there.
-
Not to be disrespectful, but there are a lot of signs that the Traveler is evil. Just another similarity.

What's the difference between Jesus and a painting? A painting only takes one nail to hang up.

You must be asking for people to ridicule you by posting something like this. Take your Christian bullsh1t somewhere else, like the Offtopic forum.

You summoned me?

OK that's far enough, you can have narnia, I made peace with that when I was eight, even though some of the stuff in there doesn't fit, especially the later books. I mean, wardrobe all day, but I dunno as much on the others. And yeah, Hemingway, the old man lugs a damn ship's mast up a hill at the end. Fair enough. But leave me destiny. That's far enough. Leave me destiny and I agree to keep my mouth shut on why I think you have it backwards: That there is a reason for similarities between certain fictional epics and certain religious texts that you are conditioned to look past... (ok so I didn't keep my mouth all the way shut)

Hey I'm Christian but your first three sentences just sound ridiculous no offense but listen to your self in third person
-
The fall is Old Testament?!?! Christians do not, are never given instruction in the bible to fight sin. Sin and death is already beaten by Jesus death and resurrection. This is just a game. Your comparison is stupid.

I think your stretching it

I believe in dinosaurs!

Bungie has always had ties to the bible, actually the head game desigber for the original halo was a very strong christian. Both Halo and Destiny tie back to the bible
-
Bungie has always incorporated religious events and texts with their games, I mean look at Halo with the whole the Ark and the Covenant. So to the majority here, I wouldn't doubt it.

Edited by Salty Potter: 10/13/2015 4:54:21 AMYour'e almost right. Replace "New Testament in the Bible" with "Hindu and Scandinavian mythology" and follow with a description of the Yuga cycle and you've nailed it. If you make those changes you can even use the text of the "Ghost Fragment: Rasputin 3" grimoire card to support your argument. Edit: Lets not forget that in the cut-scene at the end of the Vanilla story the Speaker refers to the Traveler as "...a broken god." I can't see that fitting your metaphor.

Not sure how Christians can play this game. It controls some people's lives and that is totally against Christian beliefs. Not to mention when we have class items like the ram.
-
Man, way to make Destiny boring.
-
Pls stop this religious shit with a game. Go read your bible
-
A LOT of things are based off the bible. And the bible is based off a lot of things. Monomyth is an interesting theory about this
-
Take it to #OffTopic please. Actually, never mind. I'll take care of this for myself.
-
There's also a reference to Adam and Eve in the grimoire...

Edited by THUNDERCHILD: 10/13/2015 5:30:08 AMif i were to lose my mind and pick a religion i'd probably pick something pagan. i get the impression they have better parties. there are a lot of old Norse religion references in most of bungies work. for instance, in halo the master chiefs armor is called Mjolnir. its the name of Thor's hammer. seriously though, anyone who believes the bible (a 2000 year old fairytale for goat herders), or any religious text is literally true, has a screw loose.
-
I'm so glad religion is on the decline so I don't have to have people like you trying to put God in everything. You people want God everywhere, Schools, football games, government, and now my escape from it all! F@&$ YOU and have a nice day.

Edited by Aqua (TimeLost): 10/13/2015 5:12:37 AMnope because christians are evil they promote slavery, sex slavery, pedophlia, honor killings etc. You base your moral compass on a man who claims he heard voices who was supposedly god and that he should kill his son his flesh and blood to prove his loyalty are you fawkin kidding me? No one and I mean no one today would ever take such a person seriously he'd be put in jail for petes sake!!!
