I have seen apparent similarities between Destiny and the Bible in general. For example:
The collapse is like the Fall of Man. The Guardians are like Christians fighting sin. The Speaker is like the Bible itself, since he is sort of like the Traveler's word, and the Bible is God's word. Also, with TTK's recent release, the Darkness closes in, but the Light fights back and wins, which is like Jesus' return. The different factions are like different theological views.
If you do not believe in Jesus, God, or that the Bible is true, please be respectful and do not post hateful comments and just make a fool of yourself. Believe what you want.
I also realize that this doesn't completely align with Destiny's lore, and you need to understand that I am making this understandable for the average Destiny player.
Have a nice day and God bless you.

I believe you are making a fool of yourself.

The bible aligns with whatever people who use it to subvert others need it too.

You should search George Carlin's Religion bit on youtube(B

All hail Buddha

But the fall of man is not in the New Testament.

OP, hide.
-
Even though it's religious the bible is also a piece of literature and can inspire others to draw from it inspirations, who knows what affects it has had on the world, it being the best seller of all time.

Interesting... I'm not Christian but this is still really cool! Bump
-
You do realise that basically covers most religions, not just Christianity.

Respect bro. You're awesome for posting this, even though you knew the pagans would come swarming like vultures. I love how you wear your faith on your sleeve, keep being awesome!! :)

I can appreciate your boldness of faith. I am evidence of God's Power. The word of our testimony is strong and life changing.

Edited by jay p: 10/13/2015 3:57:32 AMNot sure that works, since Rasputin kills god, as god was attempting to abandon man to the darkness.

The Collapse was like the apostasy, and the ghosts were like the restoration of the priesthood, apostles, church, etc. (multiple religions have different views on apostasy, mostly Mormonism). I'm not preaching or anything, but I find it cool how Bungie would incorporate ancient texts into a game. Not for religious purposes, but for knowledge and symbolism. P.S. one of the Bungie head developers is a Christian, (Mormon.)

Don't forget that both the speaker and the Bible have been used as the rationale for war against other peoples, without ever trying to figure out their true intent.

The speaker IS like the Bible. It's supposed to be this pure and wise thing, guiding our way. But, deep down we sense all the double meaning and hidden agendas, and we all think that in the end is going to turn out to have been secretly evil the entire time. Glad you pointed that out for us.
