I have seen apparent similarities between Destiny and the Bible in general. For example:
The collapse is like the Fall of Man. The Guardians are like Christians fighting sin. The Speaker is like the Bible itself, since he is sort of like the Traveler's word, and the Bible is God's word. Also, with TTK's recent release, the Darkness closes in, but the Light fights back and wins, which is like Jesus' return. The different factions are like different theological views.
If you do not believe in Jesus, God, or that the Bible is true, please be respectful and do not post hateful comments and just make a fool of yourself. Believe what you want.
I also realize that this doesn't completely align with Destiny's lore, and you need to understand that I am making this understandable for the average Destiny player.
Have a nice day and God bless you.

Bad troll

I could literally do this to any story
-
It is a possible design idea, and that is coming from me, a pagan, a believer of Norse gods, (now just saying I believe in these gods, and they are real in my mindset and in my beliefs, they don't have to be real in actual life, I see thunder and I literally see Thor, and not the marvel Thor by the way..., and just because I'm pagan doesn't mean I worship Satan too, and that doesn't mean I hate every Christian, just the ones that shove their believes down your throat, some of my best buds are Christian and Catholic, and they know I'm pagan too), anyways, sorry these are just clarifications from the questions that are asked a lot, but yeah that could be a design choice. Have a good one.

Edited by NaCl: 10/13/2015 1:04:18 AMDon't know why so many people hating tbh.. He's relating a story to another story.. Keep your personal vendettas against groups of people to yourself. Let people believe what they want to believe. "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it." -an agnostic

You can find similaritys in everything
-
You can make that claim almost about anything as long as you're looking for the connection you'll find one, The Bible is so vast it's easy to find rationalize connections (READ)

Sir amen and what console do you play on?
-
Star Wars was also based off WWII and the Bible. Nothing new, but a popular premise overall.
-
Yeah they are both fictional so theres that.
-
There's more in destiny's fiction making references to norse, Egyptian (etc.) Mythology then there could be of what you assume to be a reference to the bible. While what you say could make sense, I won't look at any of it that way until bungie says otherwise.
-
Religion is stupid af, take this Sh!t off the forums.
-
No that's not correct
-
Ever notice how bungie has added a tad bit of biblical hints and references in all their console games?
-
Incoming inflammatory comments. L o l.
-
I liked it better when religious debate was only in off topic...
-
There was a post a long time ago talking about how the "enemy" races of destiny were the 4 horsemen. It was pretty interesting and made alot of sense. If I can dig it up I'll share.
-
First off don't compare something mans made with something God has done and 2nd the fall is the OT
-
Sigh.... Really?
-
I want to say sorry for anyone who bashes you over this. Dont let them get to you, fear is something that controls their words.
-
Good vs. Evil, of course it's similar. Both are fake though.
-
-blam!- the bible..written by a bunch of homophobic biggots...most violent, sickening book ever

Destiny. Is a FÚCKING VIDEO GAME!!! Christians, get your religion, off my games. Seriously though, religion is like a penis. It's alright to have one and there are some perks to it, but you don't go forcing it on other people for your own agendas.

The "Fall" was old testament, not New testament. The Guardians are like Muslims fighting unbelief. The speaker is like the Mohammed, the prophet of Allah. TTKs recent release is like the people of Mecca rounding on Mohammed before he goes to Medina. The light versus the dark is a persistent theme in many of the world religions, not to mention intellectual movements which compare the "light" of reason to the "darkness" of ignorance. Most movements have a prophetic figure and adherents who struggle against the prevailing intellectual/religious moment. If you are immersed in Christianity, you will likely notice the alignment with your own world view. If you are not you might notice a lot of other alignments as well as the many, many points at which the comparison fails.

I appreciate the seldom positive feedback, and constructive criticism.

This is a game and has no relation or resemblance to any religion. Please, people who look for god or religion in EVERYTHING need to stop. If I'm not throwing my beliefs in your face, I expect the same.... Thanks

Destiny definitely has philosophy in the game and the whole light vs dark good vs evil thing going on just like most fictional religious books have so I see how you could make that correlation.
