First of all, I didn't come up with this, someone else did and I am just spreading the word because it's still an issue for some people.
SO you keep going to Court of Oryx hoping you will meet other guardians who may help with your runes but keep hitting a ghost town? There is a trick: Every time you board the Dreadnought and head right to Hall of Souls (where Court of Oryx is), as soon as you hit the "transition area" (the pathway connecting The Breach and Hall of Souls), walk through that pathway really slowly until you reach Hall of Souls.
There is a matchmaking system between every location, not just when you launch the patrol. The reason for not being able to see anyone in CoO is that the transition area is too small and if you sprint through it, the matchmaking system will fail to match you with other guardians. If you walk through the pathway slowly, the game will have enough time to match you with others.
I've had the same issue at the beginning but after I started using this trick, I have always met bunch of people in CoO.
Please bump and like this so others can see it. I think this is a really helpful trick.
TL;DR: If you can't meet anyone in Court of Oryx, walk through the pathway connecting The Breach and Hall of Souls slowly so the game has enough time for matchmaking to finish.
Edit: Thanks for all the positive feedback. This trick works on any Dreadnought locations and you can use it both ways - meaning that if you DO want to be alone in a location, sprint through the transition zone and there is a high chance you will end up alone. Good for Hadium Flakes farming in The Mausoleum for example.
Also, this will work on the planets, not just Dreadnought. But it's generally not an issue there because the transition zones are big enough to allow matchmaking to finish (except Earth - Rocket Yard).

Thank you for whoever found this helpful information.

This makes sense. I may have to give it a shot. Wanted to get a Stolen Rune filled last night. Ran into the courtyard only to find it empty. Ran around for a while to see if anyone showed up. Decided I had an excessive amount of Runes so I dropped one just to see... I ended up filling the Stolen Rune solo, then did a couple more Recip's. I actually got a little miffed when a group showed up on what I thought was to be my final run. I was really enjoying doing solo runs. They dropped enough Stolen's to fill up some Antiquated Runes... THEN we had some FUN!!!

Hoping Thalnok is there this week. It should be his turn up tomorrow at reset since they only have three Tier 3 bosses and he has not been the boss for the past 2 weeks. That's the last calcified fragment I need in order to get my Touch of Malice.

Here's a trick that works but hear me out..
Wait
Just jump on right when you reach between breach and hall of souls its close way to do and always have person for me lol
-
Bump, going to try this out later today. Thanks for the tip.......just the tip ;)

Edited by STiNKyWizLTeaTs: 10/12/2015 3:22:58 PMThis guy deserves to get something (ms points, gift card, etc). You are the Judge of the CoO...very nice!

Doesn't work, in fact it works no better than leaving to orbit and coming back and trying again.
-
Or be a defender Titan with raze lighter and solo everything
-
I personally solo every thing. I couldn't solo Thalnok(sp?) Only because of too any adds, and not enough rockets. And I never attempted week 2s t3 because no rune at the time. The ogre wizard t3 is so easy
-
If nobody is there, I just start doing tier 3 runes by myself, within just a few minutes there will usually be 2 or 3 guys come join in.
-
Good tip.
-
Or you can just get good and solo the court with a 360 Shadestep no scope.
im kidding obviously, thanks for the tip
Tier 3 rune need two

Wow, great tip. Thanks for the advice.

Cool, I realized this yesterday when I had to stop in the "transition zone" to answer a PSN message. Suddenly the CoO was full of randoms. Thanks for mentioning this...
-
I wish they'd just make it so you can fly straight into the CoO. I'm sick of having to run over there.
-
If I try this and it doesn't work, than I'll be a mad person lol

-
Good hint - will try that today. Thx
