So, after doing the quest for it, I'm sure you know that the touch of malice contains Oryx's soul/heart, which allows him to I've on through the weapon. With all the world's he's devoured, with the countless races that have been slaughtered and eons he's lived for, his power is unimaginable in strength, and likely almost limitless in terms of amount. This is why the weapon never gets completely empty.
I'm sure you've also noticed that when the magazine is full, there's a sort of shield around the heart. This shield is what keeps us from being harmed with every single shot. The "magazine" we load is essentially a magical battery that maintains the shield. That battery can only keep Oryx's energy at bay for 10 pulls of the trigger. Once it's gone, his full power is unleashed with each shot fired. This is why the gun gains damage when at the final shot.
Third, if you hip fire it while in the last round, you'll see that the heart literally attacks you with every shot. This is because while Oryx has recognized that you are superior to him since you ended him, he still seeks to destroy the light, so he strikes at your light every time you call upon his full power.
And lastly, the touch of mercy. As I said before, Oryx acknowledges that you are superior, but still wishes to extinguish your light. Well, when he sees you performing feats of exceptional cruelty/evil (murdering three beings in a matter of seconds) he grants you a reprieve from his punishment, as a way of telling you to live on through the killing of others, as he was taught to live by the worm gods.
[b] EDIT: Well, I got showed up by a collective of knowledge member......

Already a thread about this retard

The blob in ToM is actually Oryx's worm inside a containment sphere of hive runes. When you get to the last round the containment sphere disappears, and it will feed on you, but at the same time granting you more power. If you keep on firing, the worm will eventually consume you, but by rapidly killing enemies you can use their lives to feed the worm, and it heals you.

*harbinger voice* this hurts you

You could just use simple sword logic to say we are making him stronger with every shot, just like Eris crafting the sword made her hive queen that possessed her stronger by giving it to us. She performed a great act of trickery by using the Light to restore( may spell it wrong) Savahna the hive queen in this world stronger then before and the repeated action makes her stronger with each blow.
-
How about read the grimiore cards instead of stating the obvious...
-
It has more to do with Sword Logic than what Oryx wants, which is the literal application of "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
-
Symbiotic relationship same as Oryx had with his worm.

If you're a Titan and you use a bubble while malicing, can this keep you alive?
-
This is a cool post :) never thought about that. Thanks for the info.
-
you didnt even mention what happens when you run out of ammo.
-
That's really cool. Why'd you tag Ahamkara? I thought I was the only crazy one who compared the Worms to the Ahamkara

Nice!!

I knew there was a reason I never ditched you while you checked out intellegence stations and opened doors! Tell me thing in game somehow though.

Yes, knowledge base right here. The 11 mag size may also do with his paces when creating the tablets. After 10 paces the darkness can consume. Just an assumption. Also, check out the Ahamkara skulls at Lord Shaxx's table! Clearly they are the same as the exotics!
