I have seen this game, and played a 1 hour demo. It was alright, but I don't understand the genre that it is. I want to start playing some sort of spaceship fighting game sometime, and elite dangerous is on Xbox so that would be easiest, but I really don't understand it. Could someone explain what it is, and how it works?
Also I don't have the game, I think it just looks interesting as I think the whole space MMO sandbox flight simulator (or whatever it's called) genre is interesting looking, although I have never been able to play any games from it.
It's a major grind with no end objective other than to get rich, that said its a great game and I can't wait for the Horizons expansion, frontier have already said they have a lot of work to do and as long as people keep playing they'll keep adding new things. If anyone plays on XB1 add me Gt:B10hazard616

Edited by Kankunation: 10/12/2015 4:53:08 AMThe best way to describe the game is that it's a space civilization sim. You start off with a very basic ship and only a few thousand credits, and much find your own way to survive in the galaxy. You could take make an honest living trading goods or selling resources you mine. You could take up arms as a bounty hunter and keep the inhabited systems sage. You could live lawless as a pirate, taking what you need from whoever you wish. You can even shoot out across the galaxy and explore the vast unknown. There are so many possibilities in the game. The game is built to be as realistic and immersive as possible. Realistic space physics, large economies influence by both players and AI civilians, constant realistic events such as wars, disease outbreaks, celebrations, economic booms, etc. You can even help build up factions to expand their control and possibly make them a super power Some features it includes: - complete 1:1 scale of the milky way galaxy - several different jobs, Both player-made and by design - extremely realistic gameplay, (you are not the ship, you are a commander with the abiliy to look around the cockpit, hit all the switches, check all gauges, etc.) - powerplay, which lets you influence human expansion across the galaxy If all you want to do is get in it and fight other ships, you can do that. Either in open world where players and AI can equip the best of the best gear and battle it out, or in CQC where players are pitted head to head in fast fighter ships for competitive PvP. Any other questions feel free to ask.

Edited by ReignofSpartain: 10/12/2015 4:38:00 AMDon't understand genre? It's a space sim, become a merchant. What kinds? Legally, illegally (like slave trade) or pirate merchant ships for their cargo Do you want to be a fighter? Pick up a tiny eagle and pick at your prey or be an anaconda, a Flying Fortress with turrets everywhere and be a disco ball of lazers. Kill criminals, take bouties, kill cops. Ooor. Help a faction in a huge warzone with 20 + ships and even a massive fleet ship can enter the warzone looking like a STARWARS powerhouse. Do you have a no mans sky feel? Pick up an asp, fly out and discover stars, planets, and black holes to sell to the cradle systems. After a certain distance you will see no players so it's NMS in a way. Do you want blasting Pvp only? Go I to cqc tournaments. Oh and ed is open world there is a public event right now. Lots of players in that system right now. (Edit: there is also mining for astroids and sell. It wasn't profitable until last update definitely viable and I will go back to being a miner) It's a little something for everyone.
"oh but it's not NMS you can't land" update soon to allow landings no loading screens!

btw 150,000 systems are accurate to real information. Yes the earth system is there and I'm currently working on a permit to get there and fly by the earth
Elite: Dangerous is a space Sim. That's based on a 1:1 scale replica of our galaxy. You can bounty hunt, mine, explore, be a pirate. It's a game where you be who you want to be as a pilot of a small to ship to start. You work your way up from the bottom of the food chain whichever way you choose. About 25 different fully customizable ships in game so far. 6 more are still to come this year alone. Very avid gaming communities on Xbox and PC.

Edited by Dawg: 10/12/2015 4:01:09 AMI couldn't get into it so can't help you there but you should get "The Long Dark". That is pretty fun if you like survival games. And it's $20.
