I think it'd be cool if we had an all pink shader for October. What do you think guardians?
Edit: It was just an idea of mine, so I posted it. A lot of people are saying, "What about other diseases?" It isn't that I don't care about any other issues, I just thought it would be nice just because it's October.
Edit 2: Also, I didn't mean you'd have to make a donation for it, I meant that you'd receive it for free, just to raise awareness.
Edit 3: There are mixed opinions about this. Someone gave the idea of having shader for all cancer. But that leaves other diseases out. I wasn't suggesting that It should be implemented. It was just an idea to create discussion.

Yes we need this its a great idea

Edited by Priddy boy: 10/12/2015 5:53:34 AMYeah a black with baby pink shader would be awesome. my aunt is a cancer survivor I'd support her and Iook dope at the same time :-)

Edited by Jamesxgamz: 10/12/2015 11:19:16 AMWe need a testicular cancer awareness shader, emblem and a range of moustaches for all characters for Movember In addition, all npcs including women and Variks should also have a moustache for the month
-
Err we don't "need" it.
-
Okay as long as you pay for it
-
( . ) ( . ) shader = 2.99$
-
Yeah it's a good idea but what about all the other cancers and other diseases. Better not to have anything related to diseases because it's unfair to not include them all
-
Maybe we could get a clock with breasts on it to show the awareness

I'm sure a pink shader will eventially show up in the new "but it's cosmetic only!!11!1!" microtransaction sh*tshow that's launching Tuesday. You'll be able to show your support for a modest fee of buying Silver. Don't expect it to go to any research foundation, though. Bungie only does that for really massive things like Japan and Nepal (edit: and I seem to recall they got in a bit of hot water about how much of their Bungie Foundation funds actually went to Japan back in 2011).

There is a pretty recognizable visual entity associated with breast cancer, obviously the pink ribbon, and I think that this would be a great idea especially since October is Breast Cancer awareness month. However, I DO think that there should be a donation system, and Bungie has already set up means to do it. Put it up for sale in the new store, people can by it with real money (perhaps a dollar) and donate all the proceeds to the foundation. It could be implemented for whatever charitable organization anyone wants going forward, or make it an annual event. Most organizations support a couple of different ones. I also think it would be fantastic to do Movember for prostate cancer in November. Have moustaches available for sale in the store, again for a dollar, and all proceeds go to prostate cancer research and men's mental health issues. I like this idea a lot.

Then we'll need one for all other cancers, then one for aids, then one IBS, then one for ED, etc. Please.
-
Bump.
-
Bump!
-
I'd wear that shader all day long.
-
Ayy lmao.
It's all about that dick cancer now, get with the times m8.
-
I don't see any shaders for the many other types of cancer.

Edited by x Third x: 10/12/2015 6:53:37 AMJust put the mammoth emblem on your characters. I'll put it on one of my guys and you tell me it doesn't suddenly make you aware of breasts. Personally I think it was a funny (not so) subtle joke by Bungie. EDIT: Either you can't or I'm ignorant as to how to equip an emblem from your collection through the app. Just look at the kiosk I suppose.
-
Why does it need awareness? Who has honestly never heard of breast cancer? More money goes to awareness campaigns than to research for the cure for -blam!-s sake
-
Fairly certain breast cancer does not any more awareness...
-
No we don't the whole point of the month was to spread awareness but now 95% of the fucking planet knows it and besides bungie would probably have to pay for it
-
Only if there's a sky blue shader for November
-
I really want a pink shader.
-
I never thought I'd see people upset over supporting the fight against a deadly disease. But then, these are the Destiny forums.

Edited by Silva: 10/12/2015 6:11:28 AMI don't mean this in an antagonizing way but I feel like cancer is a pretty mainstream disease. What more awareness is needed? If something like this were put into the game I would like to see an emblem as well. That way one could still show support if he or she isn't into the shader. I would also prefer it generate money to be donated to research efforts rather than being purely symbolic support.
