So I know a lot of people hate the south but I also know a lot of people love the south. But I want to know why you feel that way.
I love the south. I was born and raised in Alabama and I love it because of the hospitality here. I remember going to
California and people would look at me funny if I asked how their day was going. I only hate two things in the south.
1. Its hot
2. I hate country music
But anyways flood. Whats your opinion of the south and why?

WOOOOOOO SOUTH
-
Seems like a beautiful place. I would just rather avoid it though, "they don't take too kindly to my types around there."
-
I live in Louisiana and people love it down here in New Orleans. Our food is amazing, so is the music. It's just the one thing that pisses people off is our accent. I go to New York, "say that again" "you say that so funny" "how do you stand your accent?" :,)
its pretty sp00ki here in New Orleans 2
I love the south. There's so much history here. In addition it's nice to have nice grass fields and animals unlike the damn Yankee scumbags in their roach infested concrete jungles. Also sweet tea. I just can't live without it

Edited by Tuxx: 10/12/2015 8:58:16 PMThe south has positives and negatives. It's alright, not my preferred place to live though.

Life in south Listen to country music Say y'all a lot And see pertty sights So yah I'm a Texan and south is alright
-
I'm from North Carolina (the middle of the state) and have lived in coastal Georgia, El Paso TX, and now upstate New York. Hate NY, but I'm sure there are decent northern states. My gpa was from Boston. I love where I'm from and can't wait to move "home" in four more years. Perfect weather, great food, the beach and mountains are both close, reasonable cost of living.
-
The south shall rise again!
but honestly I've lived in the south all my life so far and it's alright here.
-
I like the architecture, people are either really nice, or really mean, the nice people are dope af, it's relaxing
-
It's full of toffs and posh twats I'm on about Britain
-
I know some folks in Texas. They're pretty cool, so the south is alright.

Edited by superassassin364: 10/11/2015 11:28:43 PMI live in the South as well. I love its environment, its food, and its people. What I don't love is the mentality those same people have, the way they would run politics if they completely had their way, and its history is not something I am proud of. I can't help but feel like a bit of an outcast sometimes, I'm more liberal than conservative and that kind of person seems to be a rare breed in the South. That said, I'm staying unless things get really bad here. I'm not moving far away from my loved ones. I'll miss its setting and culture if I leave. I love the hospitality its citizens have, as long as I don't tell them about my honest political views hehe.

I live in NW Houston. I love this place. We have one of the fastest growing economies in the nation. 2nd largest city in the US. People say that the south is the worst place to live. Have you even been here?
-
Have you ever heard of Ku Klux Kenevile?
He tried to jump 150 negroes with a steamroller
-
It's nice but some people really let it get to their heads. Being in the south doesn't mean that you're obligated to become a white trash hillbilly wannabe
-
South pros -nice hospitality -good food South cons - nice hospitality from white people if your white -racist -cousin loving -sister/brother loving -inbreed -pig -blam!-ers
-
The south is great. The north is shit.

Edited by BlinksAlot: 10/11/2015 7:36:25 PMFrom Louisiana but i been all over the states and my only gripe with the south is were abit to religious for my taste but other than that the south is my favorite region. southerners are not like indifferent Midwesterners or cold northerners we have southern hospitality, the best food and the friendliest people. most of the military comes from the south and it is the most independent region this makes the south the backbone of the states. The south has a rep as being racist but in truth it's actual character is overshadowed by history today its no more racist than the rest of the us if anything it may be the opposite. When im in another part of the states i am always surprised to see how little different ethnicities mix outside the south all I see are homogeneous groups of people.

I live in southern California. That count?
-
I'm from bama also. Absolutely love it
I love the south. I was born and raised in Alabama and I love it because of the hospitality here.
Yeah, as long as you're a white Christian.
-
I know the south has problems but I hate that a lot of people's preconception of anyone that says they're from the south is really bad. I'm from Alabama and I live in the city. I've never hunted, dipped, or -blam!-ed my cousin. I'm also an atheist.
-
Moved to South Carolina from New Jersey and I'm counting the days until I can leave. People are stupid, Christianity runs everything, southern cuisine is like lard covered in more lard, southern accents are annoying, CONFEDERATE FLAG TOTING ASSHOLES ARE THE WORST, and much more. Of course, this doesn't cover 100% of the population, but it is the stereotype. And it sucks.

HEY THERE FELLER LETS HOP IN MY 4X4 AND GO FOR A RIDE AND WAIT FOR THE SOUTH TO RISE AGAAAAAAAAIN! *blasts she thinks my tractor is sexy*

Why does America call it the south when it's not really that far south?
