I know its a lot of fun for some, but PvP is always maddening and frustrating for me and I avoid it whenever I can. That's why I always let out a few choice words whenever I am in the middle of a quest step to get something super awesome that I'd like to have suddenly leads into forcing me to do stuff in PvP. I might be the only one that has issues with this, but my enjoyment just drops once I see that "oh, you gotta do PvP to finish that thingy you gotten halfway on".
@Bungie - do you really need to bar everything awesome behind a PvP wall? I am doing the daily PvP stuff, do you REALLY need to force me to play something I don't like even more? FYI I can tell you that I'm not getting more fond of it the more I am playing it. There is super awesome gear locked to PvP exclusively so do you really need to have everything else awesome have to go through it as well? Chaperone, the exotic swords, the rank 5 gunsmith handcannon. I suppose I could chose not to do them naturally, but when just about every cool weapon is locked behind PvP that is really reducing my options of cool flashy stuff.
I beg you Bungie, for the future - stop locking so much behind PvP all the time - Have PvP exclusive gear like Iron Banner and such, but stop making most of the items have to go through PvP. Makes me a sad lion =C
All that negative stuff said, I have to say that I do thouroughly enjoy the changes to the Taken King and how some of the unique item quest like "Black Spindle" and "Sleeper Simulant" works. These kinda things I love, great work all around!
Edit: Wooh! Big subject. Bigger then I thought. Having hard time reading everything coming inn. One player came with the suggestion of having two ways of unlocking items. One PvE and the other PvP. Then players could pick which to go for. I like that idea. I get that PvP'ers aren't happy having to do PvE, same as I'm not happy doing PvP. I know what I like, but as some have pointed out, I can't expect Bungie to cater only to me. Thanks for a lot of feedback, I'm going to have to mull this over for a bit.

It's a game. They can't cater to individuals who only prefer one aspect of the game. You may not care for the PVP side of things with this DLC and that's fine, but there's a lot of players that don't care for PVE and prefer to only play crucible. For most of year 1 those players were forced to play raids to get the raid armor, weapons and exotic drops.
-
I mean just play where your best. I don't get why most of you aren't play with that. People have different skills
-
Pvp in destiny is basic, it's unbalanced by design of the game. It's only really meant to be played for events and quests. I know it won't keep the try hards from sweating it out for e penis but that comes in any game.
-
You don't like it because you suck
-
Bungie I hate pve, and apparently that's not ok. I hate how everything good is gotten from pve when I want to do is play pvp..... See how stupid you sound bud
-
I used to love it, but not year 2. Signed, chaperone without crucible!
-
Edited by Ark: 10/11/2015 3:25:39 PMThere's a Rank 5 Gunsmith Hand Cannon? What's it called? *Edit* Ohh, the First Curse. Yeah, not looking forward to those requirements.
-
It's plenty ok. Destiny pvp is a joke. Theres a reason it isn't competitive, because it can simply never be. It could have been, but they shot themselves in the foot for a multilayer system that doesn't make sense. Oh well.
-
Deej, I need to stay in this game. Like you I am a hard working perk trying to stay relevant. It isn't my fault people abuse me all day at work, then I come home and try to sleep but get shit on all night. I have a family Deej; you understand right? This is how I support them. I can't be fired, I need this too much, so I write this to you asking to let me stay; at least let me put my daughter through college. Those that complain about how I do my work are just here to ruin me. Some people hate it when a perk can accomplish more things in life than they can, some people hate it when I one-up them; when I get the promotion and they don't. These people need to be blocked out. So Deej, let me stay, think of the children, please. From, Shot Package

Edited by NYDIBS: 10/11/2015 3:12:57 PMwhile pvp sucks, just accept the fact that some weapons are stuck behind pvp not everyone needs to get the chaperone mayhem is an easy way to get sword kills if you really want a sword I hate patrol, but accepted the fact that I had to grind it out to get my exotic sword even though I don't like pvp myself, I'd still rather do the daily pvp than a recycled daily mission for marks
-
PvP sucks, if I wanted to kill people I would play CoD period end of story. I can't tell you how much I hate getting killed by a super. (Mostly golden gun believe it or not). This games PvE is the best in my opinion tho. That's why I play destiny.

Pvp is shit.
-
Pvp is fun
-
Literally rumble and mayhem are my only liked playlists
-
Some things actually need to be earned. The only time this game actually takes in-game skill is PvP. Dont play PvP, don't get rewards, it's simple.
-
Yep! I just put three quests in the old abandoned bin. So I'm pretty much done with all content I want to run. Can't wait till November games get released.
-
The least bungie could do is fix the lag, if they insist on pushing pvp. The lag compensation is the worst I have ever seen
-
Meh, I've given up on pvp. I don't see myself being blocked at all. So what if I can't get an exotic cloak from dead orbit. Or the sword... Don't need them to raid....
-
It's ok, you hang in there cupcake
-
I wouldn't blame Bungie for having prerequisites. Either enjoy them or don't. Whether or not I see you in PvP is of no heartfelt concern of mine. I will not judge anyone for there choice to not play PvP or their inability to play it.
-
Half the exotics can be earned though pve? What, half isnt good enough? The stuff earned in pvp are earned there cause maybe their made for pvp! Chaperone is a pvp based shotgun, clearly since it can one shot someone if you hit the head! If you cant do it, then dont even bother. And if you ask " then how am i supposed to get it?!?" You dont, cause you want even power though and learn from mistakes. Maybe you should get fallout 4 and just leave, thats all pve and you can earn and find everything in one game type(meaning its only pve). Destiny caters to two different realms: pve and pvp. There is more pve based content now than ever before, so it only makes sense if bungie focuses a little more now on pvp and make most of the quests pvp based at some point. The biggest challenges are either in the raids or in crucible, where skills(piss off it does take some skill) are needed to get the highest level rewards(not the endgame drops).
-
Some things about pvp piss me off like full fireteam mlg pubstomping for no reason, mindless shotgunners, lag/red-bar warriors, etc but overall I love the crucible. Hell check my playtime. Spent over a day in there
-
These quests were installed for people like me who enjoy pvp ok so stop complaining cause I'm happy about my rewards
-
Entitled much? Wants pvp rewards but complains he has to pvp to acquire them. Its a good thing there are unique rewards for pvp and pve. But you actually have to play all aspects of the game to get all the rewards.
-
I'm with you on this , I didn't buy this to play against people but to play with people, pvp just feels tacked on
-
I like both
