People need to stop spreading misinformation. Before you say "its from your chest piece" know that heavy is only boosted by 2 rounds per slot. Example: Rocket has 5 rounds without heavy ammo buff, 7 with. Same concept applies to SS. 7+2 is 9. Add fusion rifle, and you get ELEVEN. The SS does 15k+ per shot to Ultras. (I tested on Taken Champions) Giving a MINIMUM of 165,000 damage per heavy synth. My math may be a bit off because my Simulant is 305, but people who complain about the ammo count on this weapon being too low at 7, simply don't know how to utilize their gear to the fullest potential.
For people that think year 1 gear is required: IT DOES NOT NEED TO BE YEAR 1. IT IS ANY BLUE MARKED "Carry more ammo for Fusion Rifles." DON'T MAKE IT HARDER THAN IT IS. I hate when people spread misinformation. Please check your facts before you tell everyone it needs to be year one, and make people think they've missed the boat on this easy work around. Its all in the wording. Your boots must be blue. Legendary armor pieces say this: "Increases the amount of fusion rifle ammunition you can carry." While blues say this: "Carry more ammo for Fusion Rifles." I don't know about you guys, but I don't consider blues beneath me. All you have to do is switch to the blue boots, pop the synth, then switch back to your Legendaries. I've seen blues drop at 300 that buff fusion ammo. No switching required if you can find some. :)
Edit: For the idiots. You must utilize an exotic chest piece with heavy ammo boost, and blue BOOTS for this to work.

I've got 12 rounds with my year 1 Bones exotic boots.
-
On a side note me and my brothers decided to three man hard VoG. Gjallarhorn could 1hk an oracle SS could not. Pretty -blam!-ing lame.
-
Salty POS you are
-
Ill have to try - I do get 9 round right how, with Alchemist & boots with heavy perks
-
My girlfriends brother tested the fusion rifle one and it doesnt work

Edited by MakkinjeM: 10/14/2015 9:28:05 AMThanks for the info, great hint! But I must ask something off-topic; What's that Legendary consumable on the second row, next to the jackolyte, beneath the Agonarch Rune?! that really looks sick! Edit: And ofcourse; How did you acquire it?
-
Hmmm 300 blues? Where'd you find them? The highest I've found is about 297/8. Could do with some 300s or higher.
-
I really hope they fix this, if it is a bug. I have the raid boots and chest that allow me to carry more fusion rifle ammo so I was pretty disappointed to see that they don't raise the ammo capacity. I'll probably never find any rares that increase fusion rifle ammo now lol.

Help with all 3 warsat msg for inv gt is the same as name
-
If you're referring to what I said, I never said it had to be only year 1 gear. What I've said is that year 1 Lucky Raspberry by itself increases it to 11.
-
I personally think 9-12 is a balanced ammo count for it because I have OCD and uneven clips pîss me off.
-
-
Is it only blue? I had purple boots thayvhad the fusion rifle perk but it still capped out at 7.
-
Why does it have to be a blue what about a legendary fusion row buff does that work too???
-
Sleeper + ruin wings + boots & chest (carrying more fusion fifle ammo) = ....... I dont have time to explain why i dont have time to explain
-
That's a really good catch. I wonder why the different perks.
-
For some reason, the fusion rifle ammo perk doesn't work, the rocket launcher one does.
-
Lucky raspberry+rare boots = 12 sleeper shots
-
wow this is proof bungie is lazy as all hell
-
Some legendaries give you more fusion rifle ammo too
-
I was wondering why I was able to hold 9 shots when everyone else was holding 7 my boots on my hunter have fusion rifle ammo
-
I pop a synth while wearing lucky raspberry, then change back to good armor, i lets you keep the 11.
-
Bump for later
-
I get 6 rockets without the boots not 5.. O_o
-
sorry but even the rocket perk doesn't work all the time it seems. Or at least sometimes I end up going from 5 rockets to 6. Since Bungie messed with so much crap there's so much that seems to be erratic or not working at all. But you are correct. The low ammo is unfortunate but properly geared you can get more out of it and lets not forget it packs a punch and is a heavy weapon.
