R.I.P democracy as per Bungievision
Do you think it's right that Bungie fans that may have bought all or many of the games below have been extradited to private groups for not buying or playing [b]one[/b] game?
Just consider if you had bought all or many of these games, would you be happy if you were not allowed to post on bungie.net in sub-forums non-specific to Bungie's current game? How is that right?
Just imagine if you bought all or many of the games below, how you would feel if you were suddenly asked to leave?
In my opinion it's a travesty that these fans that possibly didn't have the money are no longer allowed a voice in sub-forums like #Gaming and #Offtopic that have [b]nothing[/b] to do with their current game.

1 ReplySome actions send out echoes across the Internet. Bungie's actions with their new contract keyed and locked away....have been sending out echoes since day 1. These echoes eventually seep into discussions with gamers in person as well. These echoes....are disturbing at times.. I've seen it on different forums and message boards. I've seen it on youtube. I've even heard it in my matches in the master chief collection even!.. when developer names come up. "Bungie isn't the same anymore " I haven't been here long, but I've enjoyed their older games and was lucky to meet some of the older community members here when I did show up. Such as yourself bane. I did come here to learn about destiny, but above that...I came here for that name. Bungie. What they're known for. And what are they known for now? But I guess it doesn't matter anymore. For every 1 person that at least recognizes these forums have deeper roots than you'd think if you're new, there are a 100+ who don't, and not only assume they're posting on destiny forums, but agree with what bungie's currently doing. What's 1% [i]right[/i]?

When the Myth forums were up, people would always tell me to GTFO the Myth forums if I brought up any older Bungie games. No one ever talked about Oni (probably because it was Bungie West/2K). When Halo came to, they migrated everything to Microsoft (where it still exists I assume). That was a whole new community with a whole new game and when I poked my head in there, it was promptly bitten off as no one wants to hear about anything before Halo. Now you've got Destiny forums I guess and people are following that age old tradition of pretending like the previous games didn't exist. While I think it's uncalled for that they require [i]everyone[/i] to have a linked destiny character, especially outside of the Destiny specific sub forums. I do kind of understand their desire to have people be more accountable for their previously anonymous shit-posting. [b][i]I'm NOT directing that at you Bane.[/i][/b] Anyway, regardless of who's [i]fault[/i] it is, it's a poor choice for gaming/offtopic, to that we agree.

7 RepliesYou're making a mountain out of a mole hill, Bane. And "democracy" is completely irrelevant. This is a privately owned site. How does this have anything to do with Activision? That sounds like crazy conspiracy talk. Activision has no leverage over Bungie's privately owned website or community related decisions. Last I checked, Bungie.net is [i]still[/i] stamped with this, [quote]© 2015 Bungie, Inc. All rights reserved.[/quote] I'd be willing to bet that the number of active members this impacted was minuscule. I'd also wager that many of the older members with accounts that lack Destiny data stick to private groups anyway (I know a few and they've been out of the mains for a while). If they're too stubborn or proud to play the demo mission, that's a them problem.

So even though I purchased the lie that was Destiny, I'm only ok for now since my account is somewhat recently active. Eventually it won't be anymore because I refuse to keep buying garbage cut content games.

9 RepliesThis isn't Activision. Activision has no say over the decision of what are privately run forums--their watermark is nowhere to be found on this website. Their influence with Bungie begins and ends with their games. Activision has their own forums (probably) they can worry about but this is entirely Bungie's decision and to say otherwise is conspiracy theorizing with no evidence. It isn't right in my opinion, it essentially isolates this community when before it had been an open space for all people to join, but it is far from the worst thing that Bungie have done. On the other hand, trolls won't be able to come here and shit on our community without having a Destiny account so that may actually be a plus. So it really depends on if you are a glass half full/half empty kind of person. On one hand we are isolated, on the other, trolls will be fewer.
