It appears as though our Titan and Hunter commrades have entered a dispute of sorts.
3 weeks ago, the Titans discovered the power of Sol. Through the forge of our sun, they pulled from it a hammer, and have channeled this power into what is being called the force of the Sunbreaker. Just as us Warlocks have harnessed the sun's rays and wielded it's power, our fellow Titans are now following suit.
However, the Hunters appear to be unhappy with the situation. From the darkness of the void has their loathing emerged. "By who's will can Titans feel the right to wield such power?", I witnessed a seasoned Gunslinger proclaim. "It is not by fire nor blood that any guardian may wield the light of Sol in such a way!"
A longstanding Defender then approached, and scolded the antagonized Hunter. "How easy it must be to sit amongst your ivory towers, built atop the corpses of a million enemies, all slashed at the throat with your lighting-infused blade, and accuse us of wielding a power we have no right to!" He screamed. His booming roar was heard across the city.
Yes, my Warlocks, there is conflict stirring. Our sturdy Titan brethren, drunk with power, almighty as they wield hammers with the force of a thousand suns. Our swift Hunter commrades, filled with anger and disgust at the notion of this fiery vehicle of light.
Now, we cannot dismiss the notion of the Hunters. For we have peered into the void, drank from the solar fountain, and now harnessed the storm from not above, but within. We understand true power, and we have observed the chaos which ensues when heavenly fire is rained. Should the Titans be granted favour by the power of Sol, and continue wielding the light through her glorious hammer? Or should the philosophy of the Hunters uphold? Should the solar fountain be drained to avoid fire from overtaking us all?
It has come before our council to see that this issue be brought to rest, on the terms of all of our fellow guardians. Now my Warlocks, walkers of the void, singers of the sun, callers of the storm, venture forth and see to it that this civil dispute be sorted. Oryx will soon return, and we cannot allow the loathing of our own kind to interfere with our mission to extinguish the darkness.
May council commence.
COUNCIL RECORDS #1:
The discussion which has transpired from this council has been thus far productive in the eyes of the Traveller. However, clear concesus has yet to be reached.
The Warlocks are staying neutral for now. Though we have been graced by the infinite void, saved by the holy fountain of our dear lady Sol, and now kissed by the unrelenting storm, we cannot speak for any one guardian other than ourselves.
The Titans have joined the council to offer their knowledge of the true power of the inferno, for only they have reached into it's heart, and been granted the physical blessing of Sol. They are resistant, and steadfast. The Hunters have ruled the battlefield for too long says the Titans. It is now their time to harness true power, and bring balance back to the Light. To the Titans, we applaud your dedication. You stand strong against the battle, just as you always have. I must however offer an opportunity of enlightenment. No Guardian can see the coming times. If change is granted by the Traveller, do not be fast to resist, for it is change that brought these powers into our hands, and it is change that may see them removed.
The Hunters have also elected to join the diplomatic forthcomings of the council, a council which appears to be playing it's role finely. We have brought forth some of the most persistent of Hunters. They scream not for removal, but revengence against the fiery hammer. They stand ready with their bows, constructed from deep in the void, ready to send each Titan back to dirt from which they were born. To the Hunters, I warn thee, do not let the power of the void consume you. Yes, there is a fire to be met, and from every fire there is flame. From every flame, there are coals. Given time and ignorance, these coals can create and even larger inferno than that which stood before. We, invokers of the void, are not constrained by the restrictions of time, but thats not to say we are impervious to ignorance.
FINAL COUNCIL NOTE:
Thank you all for partaking in my assignment!
I was tasked with a creative-writing assignment for my Texts, Lies, & Digital Media writing class.
My assigment was to embrace the mythos of a pre-existing universe, and create some kind of interactive medium for expressing a creative article. I chose the Destiny Forums, due to my love of the game, and understanding of how active this community is. In about 500 words, I engaged with a topic relevant to my chosen universe which allowed for input from others with equal interests.
Thank you all! All of your posts have been saved and submitted as part of my assignment, and I will update you all on my grade within a couple days!
Guardian out :)
POST-COUNCIL UPDATE:
For those who care, I received a 97.3% on the assignment for "using an extremely creative medium" and "full embracing of the source material".
Thank you guardians! Who would've thought something as mundane as a gaming forum would help a university student academically?

We only need to remember the wise words of Toland. "If you believe your weapon wants to murder all existence, then so it will." As long as we believe we can kill anything or anyone!
