-A story that actually tells us what the "darkness" is and why it attacked us. Explain how humanity fell to the darkness in detail, what the traveler is, how it saved us, and why the darkness attacked it. Possibly include ulterior motives for the traveler to make it more interesting.
-Better netcode and DEDICATED servers. Then you could put functional kill cams into destiny PvP and not try to cover up your sloppy netcode, right?
-4 huge PVE maps that are actually completely open. None of this tunnel like transition BS to make the maps feel bigger than they actually are. In terms of size, I'm looking for about the size of Skyrim for each of the 4 maps. Probably isn't doable on the old gen and is asking quite a bit.
-1 raid for every PVE area, and 4 strikes for every PVE area.
- Lots of Mini dungeons in the 4 PVE areas that include rewards, bounties, extra story stuff, etc....
- In game grimoire. Tie the Grimoire to the PVE world. Scanning objects will give you a quest. Complete quest for rewards, grimoire, rep (add a grimoire vendor), possible cut scene explaining lore, yadda yadda yadda, you get the idea. Also get Grimoire for doing missions, raids, strikes, ect... like the old system.
- With bigger maps comes more vehicle possibilities. The whole entire reason you only have a sparrow is because the PVE maps are simply not big enough for bigger vehicles. Bigger vehicles should be air dropped by your ship with #spacemagicFTWbecausewedon'tneedlogicorscience. I mean think about it. Having your ship swoop down and airdrop ammo or vehicles. How cool would that be? I mean, this is SUPPOSED to be a space epic, right?
- Bigger PVE maps should mean more enemies, enemy types, and vehicles. I mean, you would kind of need more enemies and enemy vehicles to balance out players calling in tanks. We should be fighting against small armies in destiny.
-Higher level cap. With more content, you can justify a higher level cap. However, you would have to have lengthy overhauls of the subclasses. Let the player scale (not just in damage, but SIZE. SIZE matters) their subclass abilities for PVE with perk points or something. You should have enough enemies in PVE to balance this out. Make players feel powerful, right?
-More movement options. Class specific. Hunters can run on certain walls, have same jump options, mantle, etc... Warlocks can hover and #lolteleport, and Titans can mantle, jet pack, and sometimes super jet pack (think star wars BF3 jet pack. Like that). Also introduce mid air dodges (with cool down times). That would be cool.
- Destiny's PVE should actually function like an open world. Instead of always going to orbit in order to get a strike, give us the option to access the strike from the open world and put us into a playlist that will instance the strike. At the end of the strike, give us the option to either go to orbit or take us back to the open world. Do the same for missions.
-Friendly areas in the open world with bounties, missions, vendors, etc.... May also introduce the possibility of zone/base defense events.
- Bigger PVE world events. Put us up against a Ketch and a small army underneath it. Stuff like that. Possibilities, right?
-Make spaceships useful, but balanced. Add ability to airdrop vehicles (already went over this...) and Air strikes. Add AA guns to the PVE open world which need to be periodically destroyed in order for you to use these special abilities.
-Spaceships. Space fights and missions. Like go destroy a convoy of fallen supply ships, or protect a warsat/space station from being destroyed by the Hive. Or steal advanced tech from a cabal warship. Or maybe fight off a horde of enemy ships and board their ship or some space station thing. Things like that. Missions can be linear. Maybe even let us fly our ships in the PVE open world in certain circumstances. Space ship movement should be pretty straight forward. Boost, dodge, roll, etc.... Weapons would be primary, special, and heavy (like players). Space ship special abilities should be an option.
-Loot system. Destiny should have way more weapons and armor, and the ability to customize it. Crafting and customization systems for weapons, armor, ships, vehicles, class items, ghost shells, etc... Can get regular weapons, armor, ships, vehicles from PVE, but also weapon parts, armor parts, ship parts, vehicle parts, and upgrade parts (like radiant light for your armor and weapons to "consume" to get more powerful) . A lot of incentive to play could be added with this much variety and drop rates wouldn't as trashy. All bosses, mini bosses, and chests drop ingrams.
- Materials farming should be more than just hopping around looking for random shit sticking out of the ground. You should be able to buy materials and get materials from missions, bounties, mini dungeons, and chests. BUT there should also be an interesting and fun way in which to obtain resources in the open world. Like little material mining "events". Call your ship down and have it spawn a resource extractor with #spacemagicFTWbecausewedon'tneedlogicorscience. You have to defend this machine from being destroyed until it finishes. Or defend your ghost until it hacks open a door with a bunch of rare golden age materials on the other side. You get way more materials with this method than the others.
-Expand the tower to include lobbies for finding a group in game. I'm sure a creative system could be implemented for this. Also just expand the tower period. That place is small.
- New modes for PVP with large maps. Vehicle combat with objectives, airstrikes, etc... Just make larger maps period. And better maps. Most PvP maps in destiny are one sided slaughterhouses, and because they are so small, shotguns rule destiny PvP. Needs to be addressed, ya?
This is how I would have made destiny if I was a developer. If destiny had all of the above ideas, you could sell it for 100$ easily and nobody would EVER complain about a lack of content.
Edit #1
This is my response to someone who was inquiring about clans in destiny. This is how I would have done clans:
If you're going to have meaningful clans in a game like destiny, the technology better be able to support it. That's the main issue. You could have things like clan only playlists for PvP (smaller party size = smaller maps, bigger party size = bigger maps with vehicular warfare), but that simply wouldn't be enough for me. No, if you're going to have clans in a game like destiny, you have to do it in a meaningful way. But would the technology support it? If I was to integrate clans into destiny in a meaningful way, I would have to add incentive for players to join clans, and meaningful goals for clans to achieve. So to start out, it would probably just be PvP playlists and maybe a special clan oriented PVE event with 24 players (4 6 player parties) that would be similar to something like this:
- Bigger PVE world events. Put us up against a Ketch and a small army underneath it. Stuff like that. Possibilities, right?
But would have to be much bigger and offer better rewards, CLAN rewards, and Trophy items. Clans like clan houses. That'll have to be something to add. So basically, a new tower like area that can be customized for clans as long as that clan has the achievements/resources/in game capital to afford it. I still don't think that would be enough TBH. Which brings up new possibilities for DLC's...
-First DLC would be Reef and space oriented. New open world PVE area would be the Reef (as in the space part) and would be mainly used for spaceships and what-not. There are lots of floating ships in the Reef where you could base missions, strikes, mini dungeons, and raids for guardian combat where you could "land" your character at. This PVE area would have to be MUCH bigger than the other 4 maps (because ships are faster?). Fallen, hive, and Cabal patrols, supply ships, and mini fleets would periodically spawn in this area. You can get materials, money, rewards, and ship parts for destroying them. The idea for this DLC is just an Idea. I don't feel like going to in-depth with the story, other than it would be fallen oriented.
A DLC like this can integrate clan housing... but for giant space ships. Giant space ship battles between clans... or enemy PVE fleets. Missions using giant space ship for clans... Possibilities, right? Maybe a type of Siege mode as well for ground based clan skirmishes using one of the 4 PVE maps.
A lot of that probably sounds good, but I don't think the Xbox one or PS4 tech would support it. Therein lies the issue. Things like this take up ram.

Should've been. But you know destiny. Pure disappointment.
-
Yes, All great ideas, but all that would take....You know....EFFORT Something Activision doesn't give a shit about and Bungie happened to agree to. I would like this game to get better, but if all content is going to be locked behind a DLC paywall, Then I'm out son....
-
OP doesn't know how much effort it takes to make a game and thinks they can do better.
-
A buddy of mine were playing the other day and he started brand new with TTK. We spawn for the mission and hes like "Ive never seen this area before, cool!" I responded with "oh but you have, we spawned in the middle of the map instead of the beginning spawn point. Welcome my friend to Bungies idea of new level design"
-
So you want an RPG instead of an MMO?
-
I could have sworn that this was the game that I thought I was getting in 2014. Oddly enough, many of your thoughts and features were put forward by Bungie's own reps as selling points for the game....prior to launch.
-
Pretty sure they are trying to slowly explain the darkness bit by bit via grimoir. Pretty sure they are trying to stretch out the overall story/answers to EVERYTHING over the course of the game's lifespan/expansions -which I am fine with and makes sense since trying to give insight on our immediate enemy races more thoroughly sooner makes more sense.
-
bump the real Destiny never made it out of the year 2013.
-
If bungie/activision made destiny into this.... I would be poor hahaha. Because every little detail I'd lose 20-40$
-
The story in destiny does elaborate on your first bulletins during the TTK storyline.
-
THIS. This would make it amazing! I've had similar ideas, and could easily be implemented but could take time. Too bad Bungie are lazy and would rather sell it on for over priced DLC
-
-
-
What you say about the maps in destiny is true. The maps cater to shotguns thats the problem
-
Bump.

Alot of good ideas I like destiny now as in a ok 👌 game but alot of these ideas would make this game 10 times better, I just don't understand why bungie doesn't take alot of ideas from their community into consideration, especially since the majority of the community likes the same ideas, you make the game good, you make people happy 😊
-
The Speaker would be the source of all grimoire related info. Just go to him, your cards pop up. You click on it and he does the voicing of explaining. No more "I could tell you how..." he just does. Class items sold by Spearker would be sold by the respective Vanguards commanders,... duh. Motes, Glimmer, shards, materials, etc, would've been sold by Tess. Banners would be sold by the woman who already sells banners. Looking at it all, a lot of this should of been common sense for them to do.
-
Please play something else. This game is not worthy of you. Seriously. Do yourself a favor.
-
If only :( nice post
-
LOL this post and anyone who agrees with it are just a bunch of crybaby idiots.
-
Holy f***in' sh*t balls are you asking for a lot but God dammit you're right!
-
-
Great ideas. They will be implemented in Destiny 5 DLC 38 for only $999.99 + TAX. Just give it up, we have all been posting things like this for the past year and less than 1% was implemented if at all by coincidence after 3 DLCs. Destiny remains a constrained, limited and repetitive experience. Bungie under Activision is lazy, unimaginative and greedy TTK proved this and yet we still care.
-
I think Destiny should be a comeback album from Destiny's Child
-
Bump, great ideas and would make players want to dish out funds for it instead of this tradingcompany bs they are pushing.
