Scientists have successfully “grown” a new living rat limb using tissues and a leg from a deceased rat. The limb is able to circulate blood and contract at 80% of the strength of the appendage of a new born rat.
Now before we get too excited this feat in science research is merely a step towards relinquishing our reliance on mechanical prosthetics. We’re still unable to create bone and marrow (along with many other things)
Creating a limb and being able to efficiently and profitably attach these body parts to a living being without complications is a whole ‘nother ball game.
Advances in technology are being made every day. [We’re moving forward in “curing” paralysis in patients Article ]
Do you believe medical discoveries will someday be able to heal any disease or injury?
(Don’t mention viruses. We don’t talk about those bastahds)
What if they like put that over a narrow prosthetic? The prosthetic would act as the bone and the limb would you know, just be the limb. Just a thought.
-
Finally you can grown some balls

Artificial limbs cause autism.

Edited by Smarkdow: 10/21/2015 9:07:49 PMThat's incredible, but to be honest, if I lost an arm and needed a replacement, I'd opt for one of these^ instead.

Now I can live out my childhood dream of throwing lab-grown rat parts at people on the streets of Beijing.

Eww gross! A triumph of science and medicine... But GROSS!

Scientists can already change stuff like skin cells into heart cells. I figure this would shortly come

I saw this article a couple days ago. Pretty sweet. But things like this will eventually lead to the discussion of what is organic or even what is and isn't human.

doode

Shit niqqa, crazy how we do that
-
As long as religion doesn't get in the way, yes

We have had cloning technology for years, it's just that it's not practical.

I'm one step closer to being a T1000

South park did it lol

Just give me limb regeneration and I'm happy.

The Amazing Spider Man

I grew a limb
my Boner
I would love it if we could replace organs like in the Halo novels. They could clone them real fast and perform a transplant. And just imagine prosthetics ACTUALLY made out of biological materials. That would br so cool. Hopefully we'll figure all that stuff out in the future.
-
That's still impressive
-
good to see they are making progress on this

In b4 'Artificial limbs cause autism'

But life can only come from Jebus!
-
Yes! Now I can finally grow a penis on my thigh and use it to -blam!- myself. Thank you science!!
-
dis..... so mush fkin dis..... TECNOLOGY BEECHES
-
And now I can get a pen¡s!

THIS IS HOW IT STARTS
