Dear Bungie staff,
Because there is no Raid matchmaking, I haven't played a Raid since before The Dark Below came out. Not that I don't want to!
I don't have five Destiny friends, and using LFG services is a frustrating and extremely time-consuming experience. I feel walled off from Raid content.
I actually switched to playing Final Fantasy XIV for a long time, because FFXIV implements Raid matchmaking and it provides a satisfactory and streamlined experience.
I would much rather accept the mixed bag of playing with randoms in Destiny than continue to deal with things as they are.
On the whole, I love Destiny and I'm looking forward to supporting the game's future releases. I'll be a much more active player, and much more likely to recommend the game to friends, if Matchmaking is implemented for the high-end content.
Best,
Sean Langhi from Mountain View, CA

There should be a way to find your group to do the raid yes. But asking for matchmaking is simply shortsighted. See, what you want is a faster way to find a group, matchmaking will get you a group, but the quality won't be anywhere as good and you'll probably be spending more time trying to do the raid then you would have getting the group. Problems include but aren't limited to: •Underlevels doing the raid. •AFKs •Problems organizing class balance (i.e. 6 Warlock's would struggle doing the kings fall raid) •Complications doing checkpoints •No communication which is essential if you want to do the raid in a reasonable amount of time •New people to the raid •Just plain stupid people A better option would be an in-game LFG. This allows people to not leave the game while not compromising time or efficiency.

This has been asked so often. We all know they know the people want this and they continue to overcome look it like it's fine. Meanwhile they netf crap almost instantly once a couple post are made.
-
.... naaaaahhh
-
I can see why they don't want to implement matchmaking into raids, but I'm in the same boat as you. I don't know people. All my destiny players quit playing long before the taken King came out. I guess it bungee would have actually released some content with their 2 DLC use and not made such a mess of things the first year then they would still be playing. I think there should be a matchmaking option for everything. There are plenty of times I'm playing the strike where I don't want to play with randoms and I don't need them. But I guess we really couldn't hope for more than matchmaking on an easy setting. That would be fine if for no other reason than to teach people how to do the raids
-
It would work better if there was a filter system where you could select certain criteria and be matchmade with players who select similar filters.
-
Definitely no
-
Wen i do strikes, 7-10 im paired with absolute baboons that prefer meleeing a boss, that rather afk. That love to dance instead of dooing annnnnnnything at all. Not even to talk about those goons that dont know the difference between left or right.. Get my drift?
-
Just did the raid last night, had only 4 of our fireteam on, and found two others from bungie.net within 10 minutes maybe. I had never run the raid, and neither had one of the randoms, but we still finished in pretty good time. Have you seen the people you get randomly matched with in strikes or crucible? That would be disasterous, especially if one or two people didn't use mics I agree it can be a little difficult to find people, but asking for match making has been going on since destiny came out, and you might as well accept the ways everyone else does it.
-
I agree, but how would Bungie manage to do it? Because you need all 6 players with a mic and confident enough to talk. Plus you would get AFK players and players who would just leave. One possible way would be to be able to go to a public area where you could socialise with other players and actually find people to play with whilst talking to them. That would be amazing.
-
-blam!- no. Would never work
-
But there would be poor communication
-
I've changed my stance on this a lot. But I definitely would like some way of simple matchmaking. It would be less coordinated if people didn't use their mikes but with less people playing destiny now it's hard to find friends to play with
-
They have been aware of this issue since they first announced there wouldn't be endgame matchmaking lol. It won't change for destiny 1. Atleast that it my opinion
-
I use to think the same thing but in the last week I have changed my mind do not implement matchmaking to raids. Now hear is why 1) Kids the type that go crazy scream and for the love of God sware there way is better but have no flipping idea what the hell they are talking about. 2) People with people over now some people in this category are not that bad others are I have seen countless problems this week ware it is, for example when I was on Golg this week a guy had his friends talking to him we asked you good? In witch he responds yes I am. So me and to others go on explaining the start then ask are we set everyone got it. He responds yes, so we go and lunch it right when we get his gaze with no warning he stops moving (he had the gaze) and dies so we all then die in the puddle. We then try and ask hey what's up? To which no respons 5 min of trying to get his attion he then says sorry was doing a game with shots....Needles to say he was kicked. I could list many more reasons to say no to matchmaking but it be to long for a lot of people and they would skip it but these two are the most common ones and part of why I switched back to no matchmaking. Edit: sorry for misspelled words on phone at work and my phone sucks.

Raids require skill and communication. Something that matchmaking will lack if it is implemented in raids. You'll end up wasting more time and leaving than you would using forums or lfg.
-
It would be convenient but annoying. Essential is not the word I'd use
-
Holy crap this bad I dew is still brought up. I haven't seen this since TDB. People don't learn.
-
Go home please its bad enough I get stuck with afk trash in strikes I sure as hell don't need you in the raids
-
Why do people even mention this anymore. Why don't you people stop being lazy. Go to the raid recruitment forums and find a team. It's so easy but everyone complains that their needs to be matchmaking. It would be horrible. You would get people that don't know what you are doing, or get people that are light levels below that you don't want. AFK people. Etc. Way to many cons that would happen and if this was a thing it would just be another thing that everyone complains about.

Edited by KeesDeWerper: 10/9/2015 2:47:33 AMno thanks, I want to form my own fireteam of people that know what they re doing. If one of my fireteam members gets disconnected I dont want him replaced by some random scrub I cant kick. Make friends, join a clan whatever. Endgame content should not have matchmaking. You have to make more effort if you want to play it. https://www.the100.io/ try that site to get a clan
-
Make it optional and give it a filter.
-
Agreed. There should be either an IN-GAME LFG or OPTIONAL matchmaking for all content. It's long overdue. There should also be an IN-GAME Clan Management system. Clan members should show up on the Roster Page. Not everyone has a working computer to access LFG at home ... and a lot of employers won't allow you to install the app on your work-supplied phone.

Matchmaking isn't needed for the raids.
