Honestly, adding this lore to the game gives us a reason to care as to why Oryx is considered a bad ass.
They should have added a short cut scene, very simple of Eris reading a description of Oryx from Toland's journal or something. Then add Toland's journal and book of sorrow on a table next to Eris and we could click them and read them from he tower if we wanted to.
