Chapter 16: The Kell's Demise (part 1)
Lyzel gazed into the bright, moonlit sky, his cold stare unseen beneath his mask and helmet. He stood on the shores of the Congo River, watching the night closely for any sign of a Skiff. Just as he thought to turn back into the forest behind him, he heard it: the loud boom of an aircraft breaking orbit. He watched as a Skiff hailing from the House of Ash appeared out of cloaking, hovering a few miles from where he stood. This was the confirmation he needed, and now he could take his fight to the Kell’s Flagship, where he would exact his vengeance on the Fallen leader.
Turning around to the dense forest, the Hunter grabbed his Suros sniper rifle propped against a tree trunk, and slung it on his back. After making sure his hand cannon was holstered securely, he held out his hand, his Ghost appearing in it, and summoned his vehicle.
The Sparrow appeared next to him in a flash of light, and the Hunter climbed onto it. It was painted white and navy blue, with a Void Drive in the engine. Lyzel quickly checked to make sure it was functioning properly and once he was sure, the Guardian zoomed forward towards the Fallen Flagship, leaving a trail of purple light in his wake.

Prelik stood at a control console; his four arms crossed over his chest as his eyes stared at the readings on the screen.

A fear crept into the Captain’s heart. Turning to the throne, he spoke, “Rorixias, my, Lord, we need to send reinforcements to Venus.”
A low growl rumbled from the Kell, “Do not pester me with your fears, Prelik. Prime Sphyxis must first-“
“The Prime is silent!” Prelik interrupted. “It has abandoned us to Death, or it has already met her itself!”
The Kell stood, slamming his spear against the floor, the sound echoing off the walls, “You dare defy the power of the Prime?!”He roared. “Your insolence is wearing my mercy thin.”
Just as Prelik was about to talk, an alarm rang out. The Captain turned to the Vandals behind him, who were monitoring the Ketch’s security.
One of them spoke up, “Captain, we’ve been breached! A Light-Wielder is assaulting the Ketch!”
With a growl, Prelik turned to his Kell, waiting for an answer.
Rorixias sat back down in his throne, pausing as he pointed at the door, “Go, Prelik…unleash your fury.”
A low laugh came from the Captain, and he unsheathed his Shock Blades. Walking out of the throne room, he called to two other Guards’, “Crowlix, Nixis, let’s move.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lyzel forced his way through the Ketch, killing whatever came at him. Getting in the Ketch was relatively easy, but getting to the Kell in the throne room was proving to be a bit of a challenge.
As he passed through a door, a Vandal lunged at him, nearly slicking his head from his shoulders. Lyzel barely dodged the attack and stabbed his drawn knife into the side of the Vandal, a shriek coming from it. He turned, drawing his hand cannon and firing it, removing the head of another Vandal.
A Wire Rifle shot whizzed past Lyzel, almost catching his mask. Sliding to cover, Lyzel hoisted his Suros sniper rifle and sighted in on the Vandal. He pulled the trigger and grinned, watching the body fall to the ground as Ether seeped from it.
It wasn’t long before the room was cleared out, and Lyzel began picking up any ammo he could find. Hearing a roar, he froze and looked to where it came from.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roaring, Prelik charged through the doors, vaulting over the railing of the walkway and slamming his Shock Blades into the hard metal below him. Crowlix and Nixis landed next to him, and they charged the Hunter, who turned as they came. Crowlix punched at the Guardian but was brought down with a swift slit across his throat by the Hunter’s knife.
Lyzel weaved his way under the Vandal’s fist, driving the sharp edge of his blade across the minion’s neck, Ether and blood spewing out of it. He rolled left, dodging the other Vandal’s attack, but was met with a right hook to the side of his jaw, sending him sprawling. His knife flew out of his hand, clattering on the cold metal of the floor.
Prelik walked to the Guardian, who was lifting himself off the floor. Before he could stand though, Prelik grabbed his hood back and yanked it off, gripping the small head of the Hunter in one of his clawed hands. He threw the Guardian back, flinging the body into a cooling cylinder which bent under the force, Ether and other vaporous substances seeping out.
Lyzel grunted in pain as his back slammed into the cylinder. Stumbling forward, he looked up just in time to dodge Nixis’ lunge, using his foe’s momentum and his blade, he twisted the Vandal’s arm, snapping it and impaling the body as its shrieks rang out. Hearing a roar to his right, he removed the impaled Shock Blade and threw it at the Captain who ran at him.
Prelik quickly stepped to his left mid-sprint, narrowly deflecting the flung blade off his shoulder armor. He used his weight advantage to bring a swift left hook into the Hunter’s ribs, an audible crack and a painful grunt escaping the opponent. Quickly, he jabbed at the Guardian’s head with his right hand, before growling and landing a kick square against the Hunter’s chest, sending the Light-Wielder flailing back into a cold railing.
Lyzel grasped onto the railing as he pulled himself up, his chest was on fire due to his broken rib. As he stood, the Captain charged him again, but this time, Lyzel took a Tripmine Grenade and threw it to the ground in front of him, where it exploded, blowing the Fallen Captain into the wall, creating a crater. Laughing in relief, Lyzel walked over to his knife, which still lay on the metal floor, and made his way up the stairs and through the blast doors.
