It appears as though our Titan and Hunter commrades have entered a dispute of sorts.
3 weeks ago, the Titans discovered the power of Sol. Through the forge of our sun, they pulled from it a hammer, and have channeled this power into what is being called the force of the Sunbreaker. Just as us Warlocks have harnessed the sun's rays and wielded it's power, our fellow Titans are now following suit.
However, the Hunters appear to be unhappy with the situation. From the darkness of the void has their loathing emerged. "By who's will can Titans feel the right to wield such power?", I witnessed a seasoned Gunslinger proclaim. "It is not by fire nor blood that any guardian may wield the light of Sol in such a way!"
A longstanding Defender then approached, and scolded the antagonized Hunter. "How easy it must be to sit amongst your ivory towers, built atop the corpses of a million enemies, all slashed at the throat with your lighting-infused blade, and accuse us of wielding a power we have no right to!" He screamed. His booming roar was heard across the city.
Yes, my Warlocks, there is conflict stirring. Our sturdy Titan brethren, drunk with power, almighty as they wield hammers with the force of a thousand suns. Our swift Hunter commrades, filled with anger and disgust at the notion of this fiery vehicle of light.
Now, we cannot dismiss the notion of the Hunters. For we have peered into the void, drank from the solar fountain, and now harnessed the storm from not above, but within. We understand true power, and we have observed the chaos which ensues when heavenly fire is rained. Should the Titans be granted favour by the power of Sol, and continue wielding the light through her glorious hammer? Or should the philosophy of the Hunters uphold? Should the solar fountain be drained to avoid fire from overtaking us all?
It has come before our council to see that this issue be brought to rest, on the terms of all of our fellow guardians. Now my Warlocks, walkers of the void, singers of the sun, callers of the storm, venture forth and see to it that this civil dispute be sorted. Oryx will soon return, and we cannot allow the loathing of our own kind to interfere with our mission to extinguish the darkness.
May council commence.
COUNCIL RECORDS #1:
The discussion which has transpired from this council has been thus far productive in the eyes of the Traveller. However, clear concesus has yet to be reached.
The Warlocks are staying neutral for now. Though we have been graced by the infinite void, saved by the holy fountain of our dear lady Sol, and now kissed by the unrelenting storm, we cannot speak for any one guardian other than ourselves.
The Titans have joined the council to offer their knowledge of the true power of the inferno, for only they have reached into it's heart, and been granted the physical blessing of Sol. They are resistant, and steadfast. The Hunters have ruled the battlefield for too long says the Titans. It is now their time to harness true power, and bring balance back to the Light. To the Titans, we applaud your dedication. You stand strong against the battle, just as you always have. I must however offer an opportunity of enlightenment. No Guardian can see the coming times. If change is granted by the Traveller, do not be fast to resist, for it is change that brought these powers into our hands, and it is change that may see them removed.
The Hunters have also elected to join the diplomatic forthcomings of the council, a council which appears to be playing it's role finely. We have brought forth some of the most persistent of Hunters. They scream not for removal, but revengence against the fiery hammer. They stand ready with their bows, constructed from deep in the void, ready to send each Titan back to dirt from which they were born. To the Hunters, I warn thee, do not let the power of the void consume you. Yes, there is a fire to be met, and from every fire there is flame. From every flame, there are coals. Given time and ignorance, these coals can create and even larger inferno than that which stood before. We, invokers of the void, are not constrained by the restrictions of time, but thats not to say we are impervious to ignorance.
FINAL COUNCIL NOTE:
Thank you all for partaking in my assignment!
I was tasked with a creative-writing assignment for my Texts, Lies, & Digital Media writing class.
My assigment was to embrace the mythos of a pre-existing universe, and create some kind of interactive medium for expressing a creative article. I chose the Destiny Forums, due to my love of the game, and understanding of how active this community is. In about 500 words, I engaged with a topic relevant to my chosen universe which allowed for input from others with equal interests.
Thank you all! All of your posts have been saved and submitted as part of my assignment, and I will update you all on my grade within a couple days!
Guardian out :)
POST-COUNCIL UPDATE:
For those who care, I received a 97.3% on the assignment for "using an extremely creative medium" and "full embracing of the source material".
Thank you guardians! Who would've thought something as mundane as a gaming forum would help a university student academically?

All warlocks in favor of nerfing damage resistance only on the hammer?
-
I would read posts like this daily. Well done guardian.
-
We only need to remember the wise words of Toland. "If you believe your weapon wants to murder all existence, then so it will." As long as we believe we can kill anything or anyone!
-
I applaud your work here. Great job.
-
This troubles me

This is the best "hammer of sol OP but I'm afraid of they nerf if Stormtrance might get nerfed too" post I've ever seen.

Edited by LethalOldMan: 10/4/2015 11:13:45 PMI main a Warlock lvl 40 *295, also have a Hunter lvl 40 *291, & a Titan lvl 40 *292. The Sunbreaker has saved my Warlock on the battlefield too many times to count. And for those that called "NERF" well they got it with the last patch, so for my opinion on the matter it stands. . . "Let's be patient and see how the Titans use their new power, let's see how many will chose to save their fellow Guardians from a Taken champion or from Oryx himself (in the Raid) let's see how many choose to incinerate fellow guardians in the crucible either way I have some faith that our Titan brethren will not let us down, they will do what is right when they are needed. . ." "As for the Hunters, they have always been a little rogue but I do not think they will just start a war with the Titans they are too smart for that. My Warlock has been save by Hunters just as many times. Although they're new to the powers of the Void I do think they too will show great intelligence when it comes to trying to control the powers of our fellow guardians. BUT!! If either side steps outa bounds WE WARLOCKS CAN AND WILL PUT AN END TO THIS SQUABBLE!!"

Im here

"Sitting on a chair in a corner of darkness" why do us hunters warlock's and hunters fight we use to get along.
-
That's some grimoir worthy sh** right there. As for the damage reduction that many say should be COMPLETELY removed, I'm not entirely sure what people expected exactly from a TANK class.
-
Hunters have breached the council. WARLOCKS SHALL BE EXTERMINATED!!
-
Warlock enters the council to join brothers. Warlock agrees Hunters have rules for too long. Warlock asks, why not balance, instead of Titans taking Hunter's place? Come now, we all fight for the light, we cannot fight eachother. Surely balance is the key.
-
Great job contextualizing an everyday gripe from the mundane. Love it. Can I follow you?
-
All in vote of voting Sir Solo as Grimoire writer, say I. I

Edited by Hurphy: 10/5/2015 10:48:47 PMMy grandfather smoked like 6 packs a day for nearly 40 years. It was about 2 years ago, around Thanksgiving he broke the news to us that he had malignant lung cancer (something he had learned about the summer before and decided to keep it from the rest of us, which I've always assumed was his way of protecting us). He fought. He fought really hard for about 4 months but in the end lost his battle with cancer. He didn't go out with a "bang" like he always joked about, it was actually more of a sigh...I still remember to this day watching his chest stop rising. After his passing I turned over a new leaf, I quit drinking and kicked my tobacco habit. Sometimes it takes a wake up call for something to actually hit you in the end and get you on the path to better health. I find it ironic, though, that having changed my lifestyle so much as to avoid following in my grandfather's footsteps that I find myself in this position now, having undoubtably developed cancer of the brain from reading the OP.

U got to much free time

I Am a warlock, however I must say that both are being stupid. They mine at each other for having a super that kills the whole of the enemy team, while they have one that they refuse to admit that can do the same. I see only one corse of action. Let them go into the wilder is themselves without our knowledge until they see the stupidness of their ways
-
Lose the insane damage reduction. Maybe, maybe make it so the hammers aren't one-hit kill if you're far away. Maybe. Definitely lessen the damage reduction, it's nuts.
-
I am one of the hunters. I believe that lady Sol grants them to much health when using the hammer. That is all
-
TheOxButhOfLamb will comment as well. I am a Warlock at heart. My heart chose my Destiny, not my mind or greed for power. As a warlock I bring life to the battle. I bring stability to the war. Any arguing is only hurting the greater good of us all.

Edited by Winged Crusade: 10/6/2015 5:31:55 AMDon't look at me, I am simply the Exo that sweeps the tower.. (By the way, I saw you step on that dirt pile I swept together on purpose.) (You monster.)

Council Yada Yada -blam!- it. We are titans. Feel our fire.

My brethren, I ask why we are fighting each other at all over this. It seems as though the Crucible has become more important to some than the real war has. As guardians, it is our duty to protect the last of Humanity and her children from the threat that is the Darkness. Have we forgotten? The purpose of the Crucible is to sharpen our skills for the battle against the Darkness, not so that we may waste our time slaughtering one another and having our ghosts resurrect us continually!
