Self res is barley a support clas. It hasn't saved me from anything, nor have seen people use it in crucible successfully. Defenders and Nightstalkers do their jobs way better.
Storm trance is useful, but Nightstalker with blood bound is just as good if not better in PvE. PvP they are about the same from what I've seen. But it's definitely not PvP "King". Hunters and Sunbreakers are much more reliable.
Nova bomb is.....ehhhh.
I'm not saying warlocks are the worst. I'm just pointing out that they aren't the best class.
However, if you use a warlocks successfully, use it. It's not for me to tell if you should only use a certain class.

Sunsunger is pretty important. Maybe not in kings fall but nightfalls, strikes, vog and crota as well. PvP takes practice and patients. U can't rez when 3 guardians are on top of u, or right as u die. Void walker just never dies if you have max strength, you get your health back after almost every time u smack someone. In return you never die, kinda like the red death perk without the gun. And now for stormcaller, bassicly the king of PvP along with sunbreaker. Not much needed to be said there. As for pve tho it is for mobs, not bosses.

Sunsinger is really only good for Nightfalls and nothing else. You also don't see many warlocks running sunsinger and PvP because it doesn't offer much other than an armour boost. Nova bomb is so overshadowed by everything else that almost nobody runs it. Again stormcaller is just as good for PvE as a Nightstalker, but Nightstalker can have more uses. Nightstalker with blood bound is pretty much the equivalent a stormcaller except it can get the job done much quicker as well as tether a boss to do more damage. There are some places stormcallers shine, usually when there is a larger group of mobs that nobody can tether them and get them all. Stormcaller; however, just can't keep up with Sunbreakers. The damage they deal so high as well as their armour that is is to hard to face one as any other class. Sunbreakers will just destroy anything that can get close to them. Stormcallers can be good, but they can easily be taken down by some well placed fan fire or another super. Again, this is all based on what I have seen. If you are successful with a warlock, use it. If you find ways to make a warlocks stand out, use it.
