Brb...
Edit: Back. Here's from my post:
I've seen rumors regarding the 'Pocket Infinity' being a key to solving the puzzle. I figure no because of these reasons:
-No longer obtainable without legacy engrams of which is still inconclusive if it's even possible to get out of those engrams
-Locking it in this way would cause an uproar within the community regarding its not 'RNG fair game'
It's possible but illogical and highly inconvenienced to those who never got the chance to obtain that exotic bounty. I personally got 5 exotic bounties, in total, that I remember and all of them were either Invective, Thorn or Bad Juju; only repeats...
Edit 2: Going to put this here as well:
"I'm not going out of my way to track someone down in hope they'll help me. If they do have the weapon, who's to say they couldn't just "sell" the method for obtaining the Sleeper Simulant. Do you really want the forums to become spammed with PayPal bargains." This instance will set fire to the forums and ban hammers for everyone.
Let's logically think this through.
Edit 3: Here's the marvelous quote from Bungie that I see people misquote all the time:
"However, in order to unlock the gun, players first have to collect relics of the Golden Age which have been scattered across the various locations of Destiny. After players bring these pieces back to Banshee-44 (the Tower’s gunsmith), the ancient artifacts trigger a memory in the ancient Exo gunsmith, and he will invite players on an odyssey to repair and reactivate one of the Taken King’s most striking exotics. Bungie doesn’t want to spoil the story content of this mission, but it did say that there will be unique tasks and objectives required for completion, which might even include puzzles that are too hard for any one player to figure out on their own."
We may need more than one Guardian but also we may not need. They only reference difficulty and not material requisites.

Bungie said themselves that getting the sleeper simulant would be impossible to do alone. So yes, needing a pocket infinity is quite logical.

Here's exactly what you're trying to quote: "However, in order to unlock the gun, players first have to collect relics of the Golden Age which have been scattered across the various locations of Destiny.
-
No they didn't; you're misquoting what they said.
-
The last sentence.
-
They reference difficulty, not material requisites. Try again sir but thanks for your input.
-
I really don't like your attitude.
-
I'm not expressing an attitude actually. My attitude or tone of voice is whatever you choose it to be read in. For example, I could have a "prick" like attitude if you portrayed me like one but in my mind, I'm just trying to be helpful and trying to provide clarity to those less fortunate.
-
It says "might". No one knows. It's conjecture.
-
Bungie thrives on illogical and inconvenience. I wouldn't put anything past those guys.

Edited by TripleJ: 10/3/2015 5:05:19 AMI would like to point out that bungie also said no one person would be able to figure out the puzzle, maybe thats a hint that you have to rely on someone else who has pocket infinity if you don't?
-
I'm not going out of my way to track someone down in hope they'll help me. If they do have the weapon, who's to say they couldn't just "sell" the method for obtaining the Sleeper Simulant. Do you really want the forums to become spammed with PayPal bargains?

Not only that but people won't be willing to help if it's to gain "the most powerful weapon" in the game. They'll have it, but they won't want anyone else to have it other than people who already own a Pocket Infinity. I couldn't imagine a world in which we needed someone with a specific weapon just to get another weapon. I'd hate this game even more than I already do.
-
We may only need to use pocket infinity to initially discover the location we have to find, once we know the location no one needs it anymore.
-
And yet theres a Crucible bounty for The Chaperone that requires TLW
-
You can obtain the last word a lot easier than Pocket Infinity. The only way to obtain Pocket Infinity is through legacy engrams of which Xur hasn't sold anything beyond heavy weapon ones and that's still a far possibility whether or not they're even obtainable in those engrams.
If you're going to claim you can obtain the Pocket Infinity from legacy engrams, provide a source or be quiet.
TLW is a year two weapon... PI isn't.
