Part 2 of my Taken King Review. the first review was on the experience left for those without the game and now it's on to the actual expansion itself and whether or not it lives up to the billing (Raid review may or may follow at some point... If I ever run the raid lol)
This was not an easy review as the Taken king not only represents such a dramatic shift in so many areas of the game, but also because it's been so polarizing amongst the community.
Over the course of recent weeks I'd lost my post history with the removal of the #bumpfortruth tag (EDIT: Just got a pm linking to this post that it's back. Thank you Coz.) and the Favorites tab has been disabled for the vague reason of "causing undo chaos".
Meanwhile, I've also been accused of working for Bungie and received a fair amount of nasty hate messages for purchasing the Taken King to do this review.
One would think it would make objectivity easier when both sides are being unreasonable in their approach, but it has actually led to this being the hardest video I've done.
To those who are anti-Bungie/Destiny at this point I would say this.
There is nothing wrong with being upset with this game and there is nothing wrong with voicing frustrations, but if we're going to tear something down, we need to be willing to offer up solutions to problems and ways to make things better. Telling Bungie they suck and walking away doesn't do anything for this game. Not only that, but when you start telling people that Bungie suck and not to buy their game on principle, you're not helping make this game better, you're actively trying to destroy it.
And to Bungie i would add; topics like the desire for in-game grouping options and the hurt over locked out content aren't going away, but the fact that people are still posting despite their hurt shows they still care about this game. Can we as a community be better? Yes, we undoubtedly can, but if you want some quarter from us, at some point you need to show that you're willing to answer the tough questions now and again and you need to stop dictating and start interacting and learning what we feel about your game.
Without trust and communication, we’ll have nothing but a world devoid of emotional attachment and I don’t think any of us want that.
Thank you.

Edited by WoundedBdgr0317: 10/2/2015 7:14:10 AMGreat review, regardless of those who clearly did not watch the video as I just did to see you did have some of the same problems that they are stating on here below. SMH you can't reach everyone. At any rate, it takes a mature and not so thoughtless person to see both sides and then make an informed decision on anything in life, and actually paying attention to your review and using some brain cells during viewing, you can clearly see, where words might fail in a situation, there is still more disheartening and dissatisfying then has been for the good. Not that it's a good thing, but you clearly point this out fairly. I read some of the below posts before watching the review to have some information both for and against going into it. It is clear who did or did not watch it with an open mind and no bias or malice going into it, if they even watched it. It then occurred to me as I saw the footage at the end (pleasant surprise and made me laugh) or finally noticed it was from our first meet and time playing together that those same irrational people will put me in the same bracket as they say you are, being paid etc......... To this, well, I don't really care what others think about me. When people make it clear that they just want to hate and not move forward in a positive manner and try to see all sides and perhaps find a gate, they are only robbing themselves of the many experiences and knowledge to be gained in life. You can be for "and" against something, sadly though it appears society is trying to force the opposite, and too many ignorant, irrational, and just all around bad people think otherwise. I refer to a guy yesterday on the forums who thought to tell me that its alright to troll people because it's more fun rather than help them. Really? Anyway, it was a great review. I took from the opening in the video not "look how awesome this game is!" But that the awoken ships represented year one players and players in general, with the dreadnaught being Bungie and Activision. The fight being all the push to change the game, the battling back and forth to make the game better, and then all the work and effort (the fight) being wrought to nothing with complete uncertainty after the dreadnought fired its weapon, just as when TTK launched scrubbing mostly all we worked for, and leaving derelict all the players both who purchased and did not TTK, with only the game hanging in the balance. I believe this is what it was supposed to mean, and for those who missed that message, you can only see things like this with an open mind, hate clouds your view worse than that asteroid ring around Saturn. If I am wrong then I am wrong, but I saw something further ahead and not filled with hate nor anything to suggest Sols works for Bungie in the short time I have spoken and known him. Perhaps future videos or podcast, etc., might bring to light things others aren't seeing. Old Badger,
