Something wierd and fishy is the wounds of the traveler are at the bottom. If you are a faint white ball of light and are attacked by evil aliens wouldn't the damage be on the top or atleast the side?

Theory is Rasputin attacked him to prevent the traveler from leaving the system.

Seems very viable with the placement of his wounds. Not to forget the traveler's been running from the darkness for thousands of years yet never thought of guardians or ghosts before.
