I play all three classes and decided to get everything out of the way for the titan first.
While doing the crucible quest line I paid a lot of attention to what was and was not killing me in crucible while I had HoS active.
With my armor maxed out I was not able to be one hit by a golden gun that was across the map, but was able to be one hit when a golden gun was fairly close.
In the latter situation we usually traded kills.
With my armor maxed out I was able to be ohko'd by sniper head shot. That being said I've had it happen only three times and am not sure if the snipers had final round on them.
I use the perk where killing with abilities heals me rather than standing in a sunspot gives me an over shield.
Having said all of that. A simple fix would be to increase the range or damage of golden gun.
*Billy Mays voice* But wait there's more.
Everything I've said up to this point describes an og blade dancer but with ranged attacks. If golden guns range is the problem, and not the damage, then there isn't really a problem right?
Wrong.
The TTK chest pieces have random roles on them and some of them give increased armor to a particular sub class. I've got no idea how much armor, but its enough to make the survivability absurd both in crucible and in PvE.
While using a chest piece that gives more armor to a solar subclass with maxed armor on my titan I have not been ohko'd by sniper shots, golden guns or direct rocket launcher hits. Just this little boost is what is making the super overpowered.
The full effect of how much armor I actually have didn't actually sink in until my clan was running the heroic strike playlist a few days ago.
We were running the Taniks strike and were at the spider walker when this happened.
One of our team mates was damaging the boss from the front of the room where people usually stand. My other team mate and I were messing around right next to him in that small corridor.
The devil walker points a red laser beam at me and my team mate. We're just messing around having fun and if we wipe we wipe, big whoop. So I pop my super and start flinging hammers at him.
He shoots me directly in the head with a -blam!-ing missile.
My team mate standing five feet from dies.
My shields go most of the way down.
...
MOST of the way down.
This rocket fired into my tonsils doesn't even make me go red.
This is when I realized that Sun breaker is actually OP

Edited by Lib3ralwithaGun: 10/1/2015 9:39:32 AMI play as Hunter and I don't think buffing GG is a good idea. It's already cheap. Gunslinger is basically built around it's super, and it might make it OP. If Sunbreaker gets a nerf it will probably be like Bladedancer and get a durability or duration nerf. Not that I think it actually deserves a nerf...just that that's how I think Bungie will do it. It happened to us Hunters too man.... welcome to our world. Actually, I've found the best way to counter HoS is to jump. You can't do it in every stage in Crucible, especially the newer ones, because you get caught in corridors and hallways a lot, but out in the open the super is not very good, just like Arcblade.
