Shameful policy making

UPDATES: At a certain point it's wasted effort. Good luck to the members forced to finally leave. You'll be remembered not for how you were abandoned, but how you contributed to the community. There is a difference between not having the resources to help a certain group, and actively killing that group. Archived. Although the truth wasn't given in this thread, many revelations were brought up in another. This site should absolutely have a strong Destiny focus, and that was never the issue most veteran members had. The problem is, many sacrifices and failures have been made and it's almost destroyed any community building this site had. Not to mention the extreme lack of communication and, frankly shady moderation (although that's been all but resolved now that we actually get notifications for bans). Hopefully the newer users can shape the site on their own, which they are thankfully slowly doing.

I've seen this coming. D̶e̶s̶t̶i̶n̶y̶.̶n̶e̶t̶ Bungie.net is not catering to the older fans who didn't get bewitched by their latest creation, but who have been on these forums for years. The old days when this site sprouted off topic discussions about gaming in general, art, lore, zombies, music, dog's head, science is no longer relevant or useful for the studio. These topics describe a small minority, and minorities are not heard in the Destiny's world where numbers and statistics rule supreme. Much like the game, I believe whoever is in charge would like to see these forums blend into one focus only, Destiny. As an adult with very little time for gaming, I found Destiny to be an unattainable enjoyment. As months went by, the doors to the game where fun begins closed on me, one by one. Without the availability of a serious amount of hours to invest, the game makes me feel l̶i̶k̶e̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶i̶d̶i̶o̶t̶ as if I am always trying to catch up. It requires either a friend who is well versed in Destiny's world or YouTube videos to help me find my way through mazes of grindification. TTK might be the last DLC I own because my schedule and gaming hours will not change anytime soon but most importantly, because it is not fun for me anymore. As an artist, I used to spent a massive amount of time just strolling in this beautiful world, amazed at every detail that countless people contributed with their own talents. Nowadays, I feel guilty doing that as I should be grinding to get my numbers up so I can get the stuff that makes you legend before it becomes obsolete. Destiny is not for me, and no one cares but this brings me to the next point, the forums membership new requirement. I'm still here because of the friendships, creativity, art, fun and users who were here when being an All-Star made us proud and the community included many sorts of folks without discrimination. But now you'll have to show ID at the door, what's next? Must have current DLC to get in? Honestly, most of the old guard who hadn't tried Destiny left after launch and the LFG nightmare of hordes of desperate guardians looking for "must be level ∞, have blue eyes, latest butt flaps and a super-duper", so maybe you're right, might as well clean up the remains of the old guard as their presence just gets in the way of your world domination plans. Ha! Ha! I think I'll join the insurgency ;)
Also #NeverForgetMots
Edit because English as a fourth language and spelling like a fourth grader :(
