Why was oryx so big? I know the echo wasn't actually oryx. But on the last battle of the main storyline, what did oryx do and why did he become so big?

Oryx kinda "Took" himself. Additionally, in Regicide we fight him in reality. In King's Fall, we fight him in his own personal throne world
