These things are on a cycle. Allow me to explain. Destiny comes out, VoG is the first raid. To prevent people being max level in a week, they make it so that the gear drop rates are very, very low. The 'Forever 29' debacle ensues. Folks complain about the 29 thing, so Bungie increases the drop rate in The Dark Below and House of Wolves. But it's too much, and then the complaints roll in about being max level in a week and how there's 'nothing to do'. Bungie sees this, and because they have no concept of a middle ground, swings the pendulum all the way back the other way, and says 'Alright, fine. Get a load of this!' and makes Taken King so stingy, you can't even get primary ammo to drop.
