Lol, at the people who value virtual gear on their virtual characters in a video game. Look, I see where you are coming from, you want the time you spent in year 1 to still be worth something. But I don't think you see the issue with allowing year 1 gear to be brought up to year 2 levels. Year 1 weapons like VoC, Fatebringer, and any other perfectly rerolled weapons would break the way Destiny is today. Most year 1 weapons are from a time when Destiny was a way bigger mess than it is now, and when Bungie was still working things out. Weapons like Fatebringer were so good that there was no reason to use any other weapon of its type (for example with Fatebringer, a legendary handcannon). Bungie wants variety in players loadouts. Its not really fun when everybody has the same loadout (usually Fatebringer, Blackhammer, and Gjallerhorn).

I agree on all counts. But Bungie should design y2 Crota/Vault gears asap. It's been a year and, in practice, we still have just one raid.
-
Yes, those weapons are from messy time, therefore they are messy too. So we solve the problem by destroying them and replacing them with newer version that work the same way! Really? Black hammer is evil then what's with the year two version?
-
A big part of it is they realized the mistake they made by creating elemental primaries. If you look in the armory for year 2 weapons there is only one elemental primary, the arc exotic Zhalo Supercell. Even the new Trials of Osiris Adept weapons are kinetic with a simple difference of drop damage (280 vs 310). But I do wish the first two raids weren't completely worthless now... only reason to keep doing them is grimoire

The year 2 version is an exotic. Which black hammer year 1 was basically an exotic that was a legendary.
-
It was but they nerfed it, so it's just a legendary. It's mostly used in pve anyway. Besides, if Bungie must upgrade it, just upgrade it like stranger's rifle. What's with all the grind to get a new one that gives the same experience?
-
Lock out HoW weapons due to reforge. Cap all old raid weapons to 240 light (the hard mode for story missions). Allow Vanilla and TDB weapons to be infused like normal. I knew weapon reforge was a horrible idea but every -blam!-ing scrub and their parents wanted it. Always want easy. Easy got us no year one weapons at all in year two those stupid lazy -blam!-s.

I'm sick of fatebringer/gally/voc...... I was ready for a change and happy it came. I love the idea of breaking down into parts. I.e. I could break down my voc for a fully automatic trigger assembly group and use that to mod a new scout rifle to fire fully auto. Bungie likes to build the "grind". If they added something like this it would add more grinding.....they should be on board with this. You should be given the option when dismantling gear to break it down to its components to then use those to mod another weapon. Exotics need to be redesigned to truly be exotic. Most games that have unique/artifact/ancient items makes it so that this one item is something you build a template around. Items like this are meant to be used together in unison to change your over all play style. They could early do this with basic things. Make items pull abilities from your different sub classes: A hunter helmet that gives you 3 golden gun shots as a super but replaces the super of the current subclass you are running. For armor they could make it so when you break down a armor piece you can pull one stat from in and then mid another piece with it. Like break down the first stat and mod that to replace the first on another. Many times I get a good piece of armor but it has str/dis on it. They need to really sit back and come up with ways for us to be different and add some customization to our guardians. How can we be legend if everyone runs the same hunter setup with all the same weapons and so on. None of my ideas take into consideration PvP, it's pointless and has to point in the destiny world. Go play halo or cod for that. Destiny is spread to thin trying to accommodate both PvP and PvE, they need to scrap one.

Edited by Decipher: 10/1/2015 5:51:45 PMYes some people are tired of those said guns but some are not as well, the problem is here bungie could have made everyone happy by giving you a choice: -If your tired of the old guns then get the year 2 guns. -If you still want your old guns then upgrade them and use them. But they only chose the first, they excluded the others and force those who didn't wanted the new guns to get them just because what? Too op? Thats whats nerfs and patches are for. It could have been way way easier if a player had a choice and im pretty sure most players where tired of the same guns but what can you do? They were the best, if bungie made new awesome guns (example swords yeahh!) people would go to those but instead like i previously statedthey didnt, and they forced those who didnt want them to get them.

its all about choice. the people who are tired of FB, Bh, and gally have no fuccin right to say how others should have their loadout or what to bring in a raid/crucible match.
