I'm sad about the Frontier Shell
Destiny's new Light system has worked out pretty well. It feels like every day I'm able to make a little progress and it has kept that feeling there is always something both new and obtainable just around the corner. But I'm sad and maybe even a little mad that my Collector's Edition Frontier Shell was not included in the new better progression system. The Frontier Shell was one of the neat little extras I paid for and now it is completely and confusingly hobbled.
Completely, since it sits at a mere 3 defense when even your base level armor gets to start at 5 defense. Confusingly, since the Frontier Shell is classified as Legendary, has typical Legendary Ghost perks, and even displays the option to be infused... except, since it is a year one item, there is nothing to infuse it with?!
Was this a mistake, Bungie, or a bug, not being able to bring my valued item forward? Or was it intentional? Unless I''m mistaken I can't even pick up a Frontier Shell anymore either now that Tess Everis has left the Tower. What kind of odd message does that send? Don't buy our Collectors Editions because the digital bonuses will all be obsolete within a year?
One of the coolest things out of Destiny year one, for me, was to hold the same Ghost in real life as my Guardians held in their hands, and now the game, intentionally or not, is working against that. :(

You can still get a rare shell, the Bold Red, from the Speaker. It's not the best, but it is definitely high up (I think I saw one with 200 defence)

The game should keep expanding and diversifying while keep old content meaningful or providing and outlet to make old content useful for current game aka introduce new content into old content and make old content be useful for current present time This makes past grinding rewarding still and gives a huge variety to new players as well as old 1. Etheric light Lets players choose wether or not they want to ascend or infuse old gear to new standards 2. Old missions and raids Introduce new level modifiers for current max lvls and for this lvls provide new rewards relevant to new content In this case VOG LVL40 with vog styled sword,sidearm,ghost(vex skin)with perhaps some new armor CROTA LVL 40 Crota styled sword,sidearm,ghost(black with the 3 green eyes) with perhaps some new armor Basically the same for HOW 3. Also don't take away the wolves and blades maybe make them happen a little less but keep them in game and present more of them For instance maybe to roaming cabal troops Or Radom hive drop ships Just some quick ideas that would definitely make me pick up new dlc Making all my year 1 content obsolete and irrelevant has made me decide I don't want to continue if everything I get will be made obsolete later Yes people should try out the new stuff but let that be the players choice and not have the choice forced upon them Guardian out pass on that revive to the next one ghost

You still have the frontier shell and can infuse it up to 310 if you so choose

I like the light system a lot, but I agree the ghosts and class items were an unfortunate loss. I don't see what the harm would have been to allow all year one shells and class items to be infused, or to resell, or to allow them to be acquired with year two stats. It says the frontier shell can be infused, but it appears to be bugged or only capable of accepting year one items, of which there are none. Maybe we'll receive a replacement one down the line.

The Brave shell looks similar, and if I ever find enough high level ghost shells, I'll infuse it.

Pretty sure it was just overlooked since year 1 has 3 total ghosts. Frontier. The default one, and the intrusion ghost was obtainable though hacks.
