Please take them out of the weekly nightfall/Crucible bounties loot table. There's nothing like finishing a frustrating bounty or nightfall and getting 11 strange coins. Strange coins are growing on trees now. I don't need them as a reward from "hard" end game content. I'd rather get 11 motes of light. I'm sure there will be others who feel the same.

Community had been barking up this tree since day one. And people say Bungie listens.

No! I gave 1262 motes of light, and I have no need for those as nightfall rewards. I can deal with strange coins and three of coins rewards.

Strange coins go towards exotic loot of your selection from Xur ( obviously). If anything it's better than getting an exotic drop you don't need, turning it into a shard. Keeping in mind exotic shards are/were 7 strange coins, therefor you would still be up three coins plus a shard... Strange coins are a good reward, regardless of you have 1000000 of them already.

I totally agree that motes and coins don't belong as rewards since you can get about 10 just from doing all the daily bounties. Brother finished his nightfall and it gave him 3 SC. Really?? That's a joke. Especially after all the work. This is for the extra information that can help straighten out all the mess that was said before. You get the most rep by turning your strange coins into heavy ammo synth. Motes aren't near as much. If you don't believe me, do the math. I'm not going to do that for you. Once you reach light of 300, and you must be at light 300 when doing this, exotic engrams have a chance to turn into 310 exotics. So depending on what drops you have, it might be pointless to fully level your exotics early on. These 310 exotic drops (duplicates) will also come in handy for when you want to infuse other gear.

Edited by FrenetiCreature: 9/29/2015 8:11:13 AMI don't agree. Because, while motes of light may be able to raise your faction reputation quicker, which will usually net you a legendary of some sort. Strange coins can buy exotics and "three of coins", which can get you exotics also. To me, that's worth it. Plus, in order to level up exotics, it takes shards and you'll more than likely need to infuse your exotic a couple of times in order to max out its light, which is going to end up costing a lot of shards. I think this is probably the reason that Bungie made it so that strange coins are now "growing on trees", because of how many shards we are going to need in order to level our exotic gear up.
