not necessarily in your version of christanity, but the majority of the christian modifications say that a supreme being forged the universe for us and only us. these will be disproven when we discover life. it is a ridiculous thought, but so are most modifications of the christian religion. yours is simply more sensible. good job being in that lucky 25% ;)

By these percentages, Christianity is 100% of religions
-
so my statistics might be off. it was a sarcastic comment that included some actual meaning to it. some christian religions will be rocked hard by this.
-
I think you may be waiting for a train that isn't scheduled.
-
Actually, really all that is stated in all religions when it comes to creation is that God created the universe, and that he seeded that universe with life. We're just one of those seeds.
-
If the Universe is made solely for us then life on other planets is no more meaningful as finding life on a never before seen island in the ocean. It still doesn't mean anything.
-
to you it does not, but to many people it does. you must understand this,
-
Okay, I think we are arguing the same point. I will be more clear about my stance. I believe that if we discover life on another planet it will change many philosophies but destroy none. Many people will be forced to change their view of the meaning of life but Christianity as a whole will not at all be affected. Is this your point too?
-
no . . . well, partially. some people will adapt, it is in human nature to hold onto your beliefs. some will completely abandon it, and in severe cases some might go insane with denial.
-
Unfortunately I think you are right.
-
I have given this an abnormal amount of thought . . .
-
I never knew most Christians thought that, I'm Christian and my religion doesn't not believe in aliens.
-
No one does yet but I want to believe
-
they do. but as we have already discovered bacteria on mars, they have technically already been disproven, but us Atheists are waiting for you guys to figure that out yourselves.
-
Like I said, I believe in aliens and most of my religion does also, I do not believe in everything in it, but still, I believe in most of it, however I don't really believe in heaven.

Edited by ZoniCat: 9/29/2015 2:29:33 AMfair enough. I was referring to those that believe in the inexistence of aliens, but fair enough. to each his flawed own, as all religions, even non-religions, even my non-religion, and your religion, have flaws.
