All of these tactics are even more effective against Arc Blade, because Arc Blade MUST approach you and put itself in danger for a kill. Hammer of Sol, on the other hand, has even more damage reduction than Arc Blade in addition to the ability to OHKO people from range... in an AoE. You don't get the option to utilize cover if you want to kill with Arc Blade. Did I mention that Hammer can heal on kill or generate an overshield to boot? That's not to mention that Arc Blade has never been able to survive a Golden Gun shot.

  • Incorrect. Arc blade has more than enough armor to resist a golden gun at mid range thanks to the rapid dmg drop off. Same thing for a sunsinger. Both of these can armor through a gg unless you are at max dmg range, which is surprisingly close. On numerous occasions I've seen a blade dancer, golden gunned him, then got spark knifed in the groin because the bastard had a sliver of health left thanks to that ridiculous dmg fall off. golden gun is easily the most underpowered super in general usage (even the titan bubble ranks higher to me). The only place where this isn't quite the case is the 3v3 play lists and that's only because it can team wipe. Other supers team wipe much better though

  • I have not experienced this, but I will say that Hammer of Sol survives a Golden Gun at any range, Arc Blade does not. My point really has nothing to do with Golden Gun itself, but that Hammer of Sol has more advantages than the other roaming supers while having less disadvantages.

  • Not disagreeing at all. I think the armor of this super is a little excessive given its offensive power. It's mobility isn't as absurd as the arc blade super but the range at which it one shots (and the blatantly -blam!-ing ludicrous hitbox on the hammers) makes it extremely hard to kill when it also has so much more armor. You just don't live long enough to put shots on it before you get greased.

  • You can regenerate health on each kill using arc blade too, btw.

  • Right, but surely you realize that having greater damage reduction with the ability to proc a heal on kill at range with AoE splash damage is much easier to take advantage of and also makes a Sunbreaker in Hammer of Sol much harder to kill. Impossible it is not, but Hammer is literally a juiced up version of Arc Blade.

  • Yeah, I realize all of that. I do think that super is OP. But I think it's very different from Arc Blade. Comparing supers isn't a very effective way to determine what is OP and what isn't.

  • The damage reduction has historically been based off of armor stats. IE If I have a Titan maxed armor will have about 230 HP, all other classes maxed armor will top around 215. So an armor buff of 30% to armor to the high armor class will have the illusion of having a greater buff, when its just players with a better build. The health regen is just like hungering blade. As far as hitting around corners Bladedancers duck with each dash and also have blink. With the homing ability that is on all melee weapons in Destiny. Blink in a room and pull a trigger and cover does mean shit any more with them either. As far as BD and GG, see my first section on HP and armor % gain. I am not opposed to a buff to golden gun in that respect, but it still should be a 2 shot on Strikers with Unstroppable on.
