"Though Ash was not a religious man, we hope and pray the great God almighty has mercy on his soul."
The reverend conducting Ash's funeral bowed his head in a silent prayer for a while, and looked out into the crowd of people sitting in foldable chairs on the cemetery lawn.
"If there are any here willing to say anything about Ash, please walk up to the podium now."
