How the -blam!- are people getting 297+ blues?
Seriously? I can't get anything above 295 to spawn. The highest purple I have gotten is 298
Edit: This includes CoO
Edit 2: I am at 291 light I usually get equips anywhere between 265 and 292 light equips. This included CoO (even in tier 3), decoding engrams, and Heroic Strikes. I do however appreciate that people are at least trying to help me out with this.
Edit 3: Went and ground CoO since I had a ton of runes. Got up to 294! Really do appreciate the advice people.

Well you're only at 292, yes you ha e a chance to get things over 295 but it's small. The higher your level when you decrypt stuff the better the chances you have at getting high level gear, I've got a full set of blue armor that I got the other day that is all at 295, so I use that to bring up,new legendaries I find so I can have lots of different sets of perk builds.

It's just luck. Be as high light level possible at all times and wish for the best. It's rare to get anything higher that what you are.

They are rare. The higher your light is, the better chance you have. I've been grinding and was only able to get 297 without any raid pieces. Just found a 300 rare sniper that put my sniper to 300. I did raid on two characters up to oryx and got to 299. Beating oryx will get me past 300. My hold ups are helm, ghost and primary. I should get that tonight as I have 20 oryx shards. That gives you 3-4 loot drops from him.

Mainly in the strike playlist for me. I've had a handful of 300s drop that way, plus lots in the 290s. The grind between 295 and 300 using those blue drops is pretty tough though. Tip: play the strikes successively to take advantage of the drop buff, and put on a Three of Coins for bosses on those strikes. We were getting great exotic engram drops after we got several strikes in a row in yesterday.

I usually get one 295+ blue item for every 10 minutes spent in the court of oryx

I had a 299 blue drop for me. It was a chest piece and I got it in court of oryx. That's where I find all the best engrams

If you reach 300+ light you have a higher chance of getting 290+ armour and weapons.

Its just a matter of luck man. Play all the questlines to their end and thatll get your light up. Do strikes and court of oryx and do the raid once you hit 295. Cheers
