NASA just announced they found liquid water on Mars! Before they found strong evidence of organic compounds and now they just found liquid water. This is as close to discovering life as we can get without actually discovering it! One step closer! This has to be one of the most exciting discoveries in space exploration in years. Great work NASA!
Edit: This also makes the possibility of a Mars colony a lot easier! One step closer from expanding from 1 planet to 2!
Edit: NASA believe the water is probably very salty. That's most likely the only way liquid water could exist.
That means we can actually say the forums are salty like the water on Mars!!!
Edit: I'm reading news about it as its coming out. Some scientists are think that terraforming Mars could be easier and faster if we have a source of liquid water! THIS IS HUGE!
Edit: More than 1100 comments! Very cool!
Our solar system is but a grain of sand in an endless sea of aw and wonder and yet we as humans have only begun to open the door to a universe filled with infinite possibilities. Being the most intelligent species in a solar system is like being the king of a chair. It means nothing, and yet it is everything we know.
TL;DR: NASA made a huge discovery by finding proof of liquid water on Mars which is a perfect environment for life.

Astronaut of NASA:We can now make the colony we've been planning. What's your plan to do it Sir? NASA CEO:Whether we wanted it or not....

Well, The dirt on mars is a rare ingredient for rocket fuel. It also melts steel beams.
The dirt IS an ingredient for rocket fuel.
If they found water than that means there are probably some organisms that still inhabit Mars. They said the water is seasonal so it's probably small organisms. I was hoping they discovered a fossil, but oh well. Guess I'll die not knowing like the -blam!-ing rest

God is a man made word abused in any number of aspects that influence society. Religion is also a fabricated word to distinguish difference of opinion. There is a "God" and he created something with his capabilities. As any normal being, he cares a lot about something hes made but since we have free will it adds a controversial perspective. I'm with Einstein on this one, we are too specific of a species, way too mathematically calibrated to be a freak accident. There was a big bang but that bang is the same big bang of the lines "Let there be light"

Looks like we can't nuke Mars no more;)

No wonder the Cabal wanted mars so bad!
-
... But no aliens with lasers? Disappointed.
-
They finally found Kony on Mars!!!!
-
Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

Yes, we found water. But what we need to do now is find a way to get out of this Solar System, and live in a totally different one. The Sun will incinerate us in 1 Billion years. Clocks ticking. It is exciting though, one step closer to seeing red everywhere instead of blue! (sign me up)

I was hoping they would find solid water.
