Think. One guy stumbles across something nobody else has found. Do you really believe with how much the forums explode every time Xûr sells something good that there would never be a time someone decided not to immediately share with everyone? He's the only supposed case of a hidden exotic dropping from an engram for anyone; do you realize how low the chances of that are compared to the chances of him just being an asshat?

Edited by Fenderslasher: 9/28/2015 11:56:39 AMI think your reflecting your own insecurities and not thinking empirically. There is nothing to suggest this other than "attention" which I have just as easily countered; explaining how he got it would also cater "attention". This serves the purpose of both discrediting your opinion and also showing how arbitrary reasoning is a logical fallacy. I bet you are no more convinced by my counter argument than I am by yours, therefore it is a futile one. Suppose I find this armor and say the same thing, that I got it from an engram. I would also be an attention hogging liar? But if a million people found it in this way it would accepted as fact via what reasoning when by your logic they would all just be attention seeking liars. So by extension of that, why not any exotic engram? And in that case what prevents you from being an attention seeking liar for having ever found an exotic engram ever? Your word? Well in this particular case he also only has his word so the rational thing to do is give him the benefit of the doubt. There is a little thing we believe in, in this modern world and that is innocent before proven guilty not the other way around. If it comes to light that he was lying then so be it.

I don't agree with your idealistic views nor do I see where you apparently proved me wrong about the matter of whether him getting attention regardless sways his decision or not, but I do appreciate that you're actually willing to elaborate a point instead of resorting to the usual "call him a fgt" class of retorts. Thanks for making the forums a better place, sir.
