If human nature was a non issue and this were an idealistic world, which of these structures would you prefer and why?
-
I a perfect world, this would work
-
An ideal world would have no humans so government would be pointless
-
In an ideal world, it wouldn't matter.
-
I'd rather have a benevolent dictatorship. Things get done a lot quicker and decisions don't take 5 months to make.
-
In a pure world
op is fgt
-
Probably the dictatorship, if for no other reason than it is able to act decisively. Fortunately or unfortunately, systems with a huge degree of decentralization in decision making take forever to accomplish anything. Such is obviously the point, but sometimes you need quick action.

An "Ideal' world for humanity doesn't exist. Simply because humanity cannot exist in an "Ideal world" without forfeiting the "Ideal" part. As long as there is choice, the world will have flaws and be less than ideal in it's base nature. That's why all utopias are actually dystopian, they remove choice to try and persue what is "Ideal"
-
Depends on how you view an ideal world. Is an ideal world one where there is no conflict or pain, where everything is perfect and nothing grows or progresses? Doesn't sound very ideal to me. We already live in an ideal world. The suffering and pain we inflict and experience are essential to our growth. It's how we know we're human.

In an ideal world a benevolent dictatorship who was smart, fair and had total power would far more efficient than a pure democracy. Buuut in the most unrealistic ideal world there'd be no need for government at all people would just co exist friendly and harmoniously together without the need to ever organize themselves to decide anything.
-
Definitely a Benevolent Dictatorship or a benevolent Absolute Monarchy, far more efficient than a Democracy XD
-
Modern technology makes an ideal world impossible in my opinion.

Edited by thefourfoldroot: 9/27/2015 11:35:41 PMBenevolent anything would be better than self serving government. Even in democracy you need people to desire power enough to stand. I'd rather someone be born and forced into it (with the compensation of vast wealth) through monarchy than those who desire power over us to have it. Edit: I didn't consider the "human nature not a factor" element as that means different things to different people. To some it means those humans in power wouldn't be self serving, some might feel that it means humans wouldn't care about feelings and would just act logically according to the principle of least harm; others might say it means that those in power would give total freedom to those under them... It is effectively pointless considering it. So I didn't.

Easy. The dictatorship.

Benevolent dictatorship seems like it would be the best by far.

Dictatorship that forces people to educate themselves and evolves into a pure democracy Pure democracy seems like chaos

In an ideal world there would be no need for government.
