So as a person new to the raid ive been looking to find a raid group and I came across a disturbing trend. People with no experience are DEMANDING only to raid with groups that have experience. it goes a little something like this
new to raid have 2 people a titan and a hunter. need 4 people with raid experience and have beaten oryx only. message me.
Seriously? so now people without experience are demanding experienced raiders? no wonder no one will take new people in. if you don't have experience you shouldn't demand that you have a group that has beaten oryx. you are at the bottom of the barrel. take what you can get.

I just take the simple way out. Watch endless guides on every stage of the raid. Master them mentally. Post on LFG saying I AM in fact experienced. LOLOLOL Free raid group!
-
The raid requests are getting kinda ridiculous. I LFG'd one for my group this weekend. All I posted was, "Need one for Oryx." Picked up a 292. Didn't give a shit about experience. He had a mic and followed strategy.
-
Lol people who haven't done it want people who have. They can gtfo
-
Man, I'm usually pretty lenient when it comes to raiding, but the DPS needed for oryx almost requires 295+ with snipers if you're going to make him stagger. I played 6 hours today with a lower level group, and we only got him to the final shootout once (and wiped because my group didn't know he'd reappear). They left and I got in a group with 295+ people with snipers and we beat him second try, could've done it the first time but I made a silly mistake. The fight isn't that difficult, but you've got to have the synergy that comes from experience and good DPS.

The best part about this new raid was going in blind with my clan mates, and figuring it out for our selves.
-
One time this guy asked for 295 light or above people but I checked his stats and his best character had 292 light
-
My requirements are "don't be a douchbag"
-
Add matchmaking for the raid. Have it be at an easier difficulty and drop lower level gear. All problems fixed.
-
Totally fine. I'm asking for sherpas my first time too why the -blam!- would I run it with people who don't know what they're doing? I have work and other things to do I don't have 8 hours free to play a game. 3-4 hours is already pushing it. For me I would rather have 5 people who can guide me, show me what I'm doing right and what I'm doing wrong. That way once I get the hang of it, that's it, the raid is over! I know that I can learn fast and eventually get there. sometimes I can't get 5 sherpas but max needs to be 4 sherpas and 2 noobs. Anything more than that gets to chaotic.
-
When I do the raid imma just get a team and jump in blind cuz it's more fun to play than to be carried
-
I played the raid today with people who didnt know what they were doing. Took 7 hrs to get to Oryx and we didnt beat him. I can understand why people have requirements, some people dont want or cant spend ALL day doing a raid. Have you even played it yet?
-
Raids have always been this way.
-
So don't join them? Maybe they really want to beat it? I by chance got a few experienced guys in with me at Oryx. Went down the second time with two of us learning on the fly. I wouldn't have beaten in with a group that didn't know what they were doing, so I understand where they coming from.

Edited by netherslayer777: 9/28/2015 1:04:00 AMFortunately, I found a good group of guys willing to help me through my first Oryx completion. I had beaten everything in the Raid twice except for Oryx because of time reasons (stupid school...), so I wasn't unfamiliar with a lot of the mechanics - I just needed that actual, physical experience.
-
My requirements if I had to get a group from LFG would be 290+ light with a good sniper. Spindle is useless if you can't chain crits like on oryx since he doesn't have one. And a sniper of any sort is better for that raid than no sniper.
-
Exactly. The Recruitment section is so toxic right now. Requiring Black Spindle, 295+ light, experience, raid completion, or all of the above. Stating they don't want to "waste time".

Tfw mute and can't raid cause no one wants me
-
A friend of mine said that he was gonna post something on the forums since he had a oryx checkpoint and I said ok. Then he said that its gonna be really easy since he said no one that was under 300 light could join and they not be very experienced. I wanted to punch him in the face
-
The best one I read was "must have black spindle" like, wtf.
-
Lmao I've seen that post from the original source
-
Go on twitch...streamers seem friendly. It's not like they're trying to attract viewers or anything.

Just post to the forums. If you have a decent level you'll get picked up. Watch videos before hand too. You can try to blind raid but if you have never done a raid yet it won't be for you. I wanted too but I couldn't find a group. First group I stumbled on I asked about the mechanics, and did my job. I ran most of the raid this past Friday. I beat the sisters on sat and finished oryx today. Just don't lie, and tell them you are new. Also don't expect to be carried. I tried oryx 4-5 times each with a different group. There was always 1-2 guys per group that just couldn't get the concept down or they would keep dying. It's no fun when one guy isn't carrying their weight. I grouped up with some Brits this morning and we ran it first try. It was refreshing compared to the 4-5 times prior. It was the highlight of the kings fall raid. Everyone was having fun, cracking jokes and it went smoothly. We knew what to do, and did work.

Edited by Katrishi: 9/27/2015 11:58:48 PMAndy, it's not you... It's me..... I do not have 8 hours to re "learn" the raid again. It's a really long raid as Destiny raids go. Most groups can't beat Oryx mainly because it's 3am by the time you get to him and people are tierd and start making mistakes. Edit: that being said I do not think the raid should be shorter, it's just new and there are wipes and stuff. The multiple jumping puzzles take a while too. It will be fine in a few weeks when people get it down more

Lfg for vog normal. Need 5 people who have the sleeper simulamt, touch of malice, and no land beyond. Must have a 2.0+ kd and be light level 300+. I will not contribute and will be eating chips with my mic muted and will kick anyone who dies or allows me to die. Message xxx420NoScopeMLGxxx no scrubs
