So as a person new to the raid ive been looking to find a raid group and I came across a disturbing trend. People with no experience are DEMANDING only to raid with groups that have experience. it goes a little something like this
new to raid have 2 people a titan and a hunter. need 4 people with raid experience and have beaten oryx only. message me.
Seriously? so now people without experience are demanding experienced raiders? no wonder no one will take new people in. if you don't have experience you shouldn't demand that you have a group that has beaten oryx. you are at the bottom of the barrel. take what you can get.

I've had some good and bad experiences on lfg. But hey they can't all be winners.
-
I ask for experience meaning just know the strat. YouTube it or I can tell you. I've helped plenty of people beat oryx that have never beat it. As long as you have a damn brain and can listen you are fine to me and can raid with me anytime lol.

I have been told I'm the funny one! I think this made people more forgiving when we went through the raid, bearing in mind there was 3 of us (didn't know each other) who had never done it, we were tutored for 5-10 minutes before each part by a Scottish bloke, aside from understanding his accent, it was pretty easy when we had someone who knew what to do. 2-3 attempts at each part was pretty good I thought. Unfortunately he left at oryx as he had to go, I was told along with the other two, to watch the video guide first. I've watched it, I have a general idea of how to beat him, but putting down never beat oryx makes me think people will either a. Say no or b. Treat me like an idiot. Either way I would rather not lie about not beating him so the rest of the group no what to expect, it is unfair to mislead them in to thinking it will be straight forward when I'll be running round asking what the hell is he doing now do I hide etc. There are decent people out there who enjoy helping people out and getting them through it all, but to ask for experienced people when you haven't done it yourself is like being a virgin and demanding the local bicycle be your first. Just be grateful if anyone agrees to take you on.
-
Its pathetic now. Saw one last night who claimed he could carry people, multiple completions, 3 characters with checkpoints. Went on his profile, 0 completions and only 1 level 40. I just don't get why people bullshit thinking we aren't smart enough to check. I don't even care about wether or not you've finished the damn raid just don't lie about it.
-
They're forming their own group. Pretty sure they can ask for whatever they want. Doesn't mean they'll get it, but it's up to them ultimately.
-
LF5M, must be able to see why kids love the taste of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
-
Yeah it seems to be an ever growing trend now a days people are getting more ignorant and little dumber as each day passes
-
Did it reach trials low?
-
It's their groups, they can try to form them however they like. You can always make your own, you know?
-
I've run into 3 groups that demand someone who has beaten the raid only to find out that I was the only one in the entire group who even made it past golgoroth. I officially check the emblem/gear of anyone claiming to have beaten oryx before I msg them.

Confirmed LFG is now in Trials of Oryx mode
-
I find it hilarious when people make demands when THEY need help.
-
This is why I will only complete this raid with friends. I'm doing part here, part there, but with little added aggravation. I refuse to play with complete strangers. I'm not better than them, just seems anytime more than half the team is LFG things go south. If I don't finish the raid, so be it. At least I won't have some wannabe sweaty bitching, some squeaker squawking, someone carrying a conversation while downing a boss, or some who says "brb" and is gone for 20 mins while we just sit there waiting. To each his own, but I'll quit playing before I do LFG.
-
For some, gameplay is a checklist, its like a job to them. The next thing to get done on the list. Its one of many reasons I don't bother with the raids.

I was raiding with a team on saturday. They kept messing up and i could feel the rage. I always did the same pillar and always had atleast 35 seconds left on the timer after getting the relic if i was torn. Somehow they blamed me for their -blam!- ups even though they all either kept dying or where -blam!-ing up getting the relic. They then kicked me and sent me a msg saying "dude your bad", ME? Amazing. The most annoying part? This was at the sisters!!
-
Yeah ive always hated this!! So glad i dont have to lfg anymore.
-
My friend and I have now completed the raid entirely 12 and 17 times respectively. We carry people through and teach them how the mechanics work. We beat him last night with a 279.
-
Imo all you really need to do is watch a video of a team completing the raid to know what to expect and I'm cool. I don't mind breaking down mechanics and stuff but at least be familiar with what tf is going on. If you're playing Destiny you have access to YT and studying before the test is the best way to help not only yourself but the people you're playing with. I haven't attempted King's Fall yet, and probably wont for about a month until I'm sure the mechanics are 'common knowledge', but I'm confident I can join a group of experienced players and not drag them down because I know what to expect and have acquired gear that seems to be essential to success. Whenever I see lfg posts that have high criteria, join and see the host doesn't meet the criteria they've set by a lot I just leave and block communications.

That basically is them saying I have no skill and can't do things for myself carry me please

Edited by Foy: 9/28/2015 6:30:55 AMI'm going to start joining those games that require high light levels, and when I get into the party just go, ohhhhhh only a 290-305? Ya I play with better people and leave. Edit: then pick up some inexperienced players and beat the raid before them. Screenshotting their levels, and sending it to the original guy
-
Edited by FloppyJaloppy: 9/28/2015 8:56:35 AMIronic part is when you have exp and beaten the raid before and having the inexperienced start telling you that you're wrong and don't know how to raid kf.......... This happened twice. Mind you I joined to just play and it was a whole team of inexperienced players. Just wanted to play and help others out too..
-
This is vey apparent in Trial posts too :(
-
I only raid with people who can ride a bike without holding the handle bars.
-
Luckily I have a fire team to play with so I can avoid this rubbish, I wouldn't trust a stranger with party leader and the freedom to kick anyone at anytime. My only requirement would be I'm party leader, basic knowledge of raid 285+ light level and a partridge in a pear tree.
-
Edited by KeesDeWerper: 9/28/2015 8:44:04 AMI understand your point that its annoying to be excluded from raid groups because you havent finished it yet. However I also think its a bad idea to play the raid with a team of virgins. I think to have a smooth raid you need at least 3-4 players who know what they re doing. Nothing is more annoying then getting stuck on a particular checkpoint because some people dont bring enough (especially if u ve beaten it a few times). Light level is understandable (285+), but demanding a full team of ppl who already beat it looks a bit retarded.

vog normal must be level 40 must have year 2 exotic (used to be maxed Gally) must have soloed the raid and it gets worse
